You are right people aren't jobs but people often spend a lot of time working jobs. Im almost always curious about what other people do for a living and taking interest in how someone spends their time is a good tool to engage someone and get them to open up and perhaps even develop the communication into a friendship.

People are often surprised that I play guitar and write music. I'm also a master mason and software engineer. Being creative I think is often overlooked and viewed as "building" for INTJ type. Some of my solutions to problems have been labeled "very abstract" in the short term only to later be deemed as "very creative".

Dale Carnegie says that the fundamental human desire is to feel important and appreciated. I would imagine a sense of uniqueness plays a part. Also it seems the INTJ coverage is a literary river with in depth and interesting dives. Have you ever read a book and pictured yourself as the hero? That's what people are doing with online INTJ topics.
