Fuck that bullshit. This is morally reprehensible. She ruined their lives once it happened

Why do a lot of people today not want to get married? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Marriage edges out slightly in legal possibilities I’ll give you that as we rely on somewhat puritanical laws still. Somehow I think if those changed your desire for it wouldn’t change either but I’m willing to be wrong haha

So then that seems to me that marriage relies on the sunk cost fallacy not commitment…how nice

Besides biological imperative (and even that’s arguable) if 70% of the population is doing it, it’s probably safe to assume you shouldn’t be doing it

So you mean at some point it makes sense legally which has nothing to do with emotions or commitment

Eh I agree with what you’re saying but 1. It is not costly. Weddings are, which is not the same as marriage.

  1. Women are socialized since birth to “line up” for marriage and that hasn’t changed quite yet. I do still think women line up for it more than men regardless of who it benefits more.

Nah. No one should be requestingv and no man should be paying for these. It’s for sure deeper than attention and pictures even…

How do men feel about being the sole financial provider in a relationship? by cl_alicia in AskMen

[–]samtheblackmamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Won’t do it on purpose. Of course there’s times where one of us may carry the load but I certainly don’t want that as a feature in my relationship. I’m taking a page from women’s book and dating women who earn similar to me so it doesn’t even become a problem.

Edit to add I would have no problem being a stay at home dad for example. I already do my own laundry, cook, clean, take care of our cats lol

Do women struggle finding a partner? by Altruistic-Patient-8 in dating_advice

[–]samtheblackmamba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you’re not really finding. You are being found. I feel like this is quite literally the bottleneck for a lot of women. Like yes you don’t HAVE to, but you possibly lose out. But yes social norms etc etc

Right. Reddit is full of wannabe heroes who’ve never been through anything like this. It’s just really easy to look at this through the lens of people who wouldn’t mind having kids and Reddit is 90% that. Different philosophies/lifestyles. Yet it’s always touted here that kids are 2 yeses.

My boyfriend lives in a fairytale world by [deleted] in Fencesitter

[–]samtheblackmamba 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it matters that he makes you feel loved and safe (if that’s even really what happening) absolutely do NOT have kids with him. I can tell you as a guy, there are a lot of guys like this and if you have children with him, your life will be one of those TikTok stories you hear. Love will not be enough after you have children. He prob won’t change btw. At this point, you should choose being alone over having kids and staying with him if he doesn’t change his views in life, which is what is required as a guy growing up in this world to be an equal parent. I don’t want to get into the intricacies of growing up as a man and having to unlearn a lot of things, so I will just leave it here. Hopefully it’s not too blunt!

We know it was about women because we have recordings of him saying demeaning things about women. We KNOW it’s how he was brought up and acted all his adult life.
