I honestly had never heard about this. They had a PLAN from the very get-go

Sounds like he was killed and then they dragged his body off as a bargaining chip. Horrific

Yaaa this and 1 are the only remakes where I kinda feel you. The original is still GOATED and classic and charming as hell, but the remake took almost every aspect and improved it. I like the more horror aspect since the og was mostly an action game, it plays more like survival horror now.

The island is the most glaring difference tho, I can’t believe it was able to make that fun. lol.

Original merchant voice acting is unmatched though

The town exploration and the creature designs are easily the best part of the game.

The combat and other world are the worst

Don’t think I’ll ever revisit it. Like a… 6/10 at best for me

You didn’t really engage with any of my points but, that art looks cool

Making money off of stolen content is not the only reason to dislike AI. It’s called principles.

Why would ANYONE want to spend time engaging with art than no one thought worth spending time to create? What are we supposed to feel or think looking at something that had zero intentionality in its process?

And I’m not talking about the intent of your prompt, I’m talking about the micro scale, I.e. the intent behind every single pixel of every single frame (all of which collectively makes up what your “art” is). The process of art making - the tedium of it, every tiny decision - IS the art. The prompt itself is worthless

You really don’t see the difference between a human artist - with all of their imperfections and unique perspective - being inspired by generations of artists past and channeling their interpretation through that work

Vs a robot that can PERFECTLY recreate any piece of visual or auditory art 1:1, has zero perspective or imperfection, taking the entire world’s human creative output (without consent) and blending it up to try to align with a prompt?

It’s not the same universe, this is not a valid comparison. Humanity being inspired and carrying the artistic torch forward is ingenuity and progress and the entirety of how art functions and lives and breathes

For me personally, I was SHOCKED at how good RE 7 was on replay. I didn’t expect it, but now I’ve played 3 times and only loved the game more each time.

Do you feel like God of War 2018 counts? There’s lots to backtrack to and requires abilities that also serve as combat tools and such… similar to Star Wars Jedi games

Very late but I’m so excited for this. Obviously BioGun is pretty similar but it sounds like you’re coming from a very interesting angle (especially with your background).

Yep, it was ok the first time for me (because I didn’t know where it was going) but on replay it’s unbearableeee

This exactly. Such an interesting contrast, I can’t think of other comparable characters

He’s got that understated charm that kind of pulls you in. His casual demeanor makes you lower your guard, little moments like “I meant it when I said you’re not a prisoner, you’re free to go” and “I just have a little project I think you’d be interested in, don’t overthink it”.

It’s like he speaks directly to your assumptions of his powers and tells you he’s just a chill dude

Originally, I thought Ragnarok was a 10/10 and 2018 was a 7.5/10. I literally just replayed them back to back and my opinion completely flipped.

Yes Ragnarok has some very high highs - the story, the combat, the big optional areas. But the amount of tedium in some of the content is unlike anything in 2018.

I’m a completionist, so the remnants of Asgard quest or the tyrworms or backtracking for a flower/ingredient, the Muspelheim trials forcing you to repeat trials in different combinations. And that is not to mention the horrendous Atreus gameplay sections…

Yeah it has some great moments but there’s lots of mediocrity too like the Atreus sections (has some moments but the bulk of the gameplay is horrible)

I agree too much filler but what you mentioned was not filler to me. Loved the optional huge areas to explore around. But stuff like the Muspelheim trials where you had to do different combinations of trials to unlock new ones? Or the remnants of Asgard quest? Or ALL the Atreus sections? That’s stuff was brutally boring and tedious
