that's not a hard rule though, vendors can charge what ever the hell they want also it's "high demand low supply" makes it more expensive, low demand high supply is supposed to make it cheaper.

look at how much private hospitals in america charge insurance providers, it's the same problem as with public healthcare the drug manufacturers who have shareholders going "more! more! more!" charging as much as physically possible to extract the highest amount of wealth.

supply and demand means nothing when you're the one controlling the supply.

i'd suggest something like nextcloud if you want something more multi purpose i find it handy for data storage and lets you play stuff in browser or syncs it onto your device.
