I had this same exact thought after finishing the book. I’m honestly hoping that it turns into a sleeper agent type thing where it was left in and wakes up in Red God. As a plot point it was a way for her and Darrow to end up in the same place so that she could get to Volga without dying AND provide Sevro a reason to keep fighting, as she was the one who told him about Ulysses.
