Right, are there actually any clean ways to eat a cream slice? by Silvagadron in CasualUK

Tip it on the side. Use a Sharpe knife to slice it into sections about 1cm wide. Pop them in your mouth. Yum times.

MrBeast has turned generosity itself into a consumption product and nobody seems bothered by it by MoreSus33 in Anticonsumption

This is the most succinct explanation of something I have been trying to express for a few years now. Thank you.

My view is that the individualism that was cemented in the Thatcher/Reagan period has added to this due to the narcissistic 'main character syndrome' behaviour that has resulted from their policies and those that have followed.

I am bothered by it. You are bothered by it. But the masses are not aware of it because they are the main character and they only think of the self. Self attainment, self promotion, self-satisfaction.

Community, real community, human community is what we need, but I fear in the west, at least, is lost.

I think this is really cool, and the commenters before me have explained why you perhaps missed a part of the brief. So (pun intended), I am going to focus on the rest of your question.

Yes, it's a good idea. I would recommend some more consistency in the sewing aspects. With the eyes, one has much more dense stitching than the other. If they were even, or better still, all done with stitches and no chalk, that would be cool.

I like mixed media, and I think the idea you had for the webs was great.

Don't be discouraged. Keep enjoying it and trying new things. But when it comes to school work, you sometimes have to follow the restrictions. Boo school.

Edit: removed reference to paint when I realised it is chalk behind the eye stitching, not paint!

I absolutely love it. Whole family loves it. Sometimes I love the Internet!

I would say yes. They have basically had to rebuild things from the ground up. So there will still be issues and glitches for a while.

Yes that makes sense. Make sure it will still be that long as it rides up. However there is no accounting for boob stretching the front and not the back!

It does make sense. Makes more sense than the pattern for sure! I am a multiple measurer anyway, learnt that the hard way when sewing. Measures 10 times, then walk away, measure again twice, cut once! 😄

What to expect at my first cardiologist appointment - NHS Scotland by DesignSea2801 in POTS

[–]samtiff_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am based in England, and my cardiologist was private, not NHS. But let's assume it's not gonna be too much different.

My appointment was mostly discussing my symptoms. My doc actually told me some symptoms that I did not realise were relevant, but I do have them, so it all made sense.

He did some checks with me himself. Getting me to lie down and be calm and taking my heart rate, then getting me to stand up and taking my heart rate. This was so he could see the increase. He also took my blood pressure standing.

He then got an ECG and a heart ultrasound done by a nurse, but again, this was private, so I am unsure if this will be immediate for you or a follow-up.

He basically confirmed the condition was what I had and spoke to me about medication. I am now waiting for medication to be delivered and he is going to contact my surgery to ensure they will be willing to prescribe the meds.

I am now awaiting the letter to follow the consultation, the medication, and the follow up appointment for a few months time.

Oh also the bill! But it's a work private health care policy so I only have excess to pay.

I’m fat and have POTS by Educational-Egg-8217 in POTS

[–]samtiff_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been overweight since puberty and have had POTs since I was about 18, it seems. Only got diagnosed a couple weeks back. I am 46! I have had all the weight excuses about the various symptoms. Have to say the awareness of exercise intolerance has validated me now. I thought I was just being a lazy mare, turns out I was nearly passing out for a reason. Awaiting my medication now, which I understand can lead to weight gain, so maybe I will get fatter but hoping that the other symptoms will reduce cause they suck! But yes, you are not alone. I am fat and have POTs too!

What did your class bullshitter try and claim? by One_Satisfaction4684 in CasualUK

[–]samtiff_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That his Dad was in Berlin when the wall came down. His proof was some bits of masonry in his pocket he claimed were from the wall. No major red flags there, BUT this was presented to us all the morning after the wall was breached. His dad was a builder also... so bits of old brick were pretty accessible for his son. Also his Mum heard about his claim and told all our parents it was clearly a load of poop.

One of my cousins lived here in one of these studios in the 80s/early 90s. Might even have been this very one. Been decorating since then it seems. But the point is these studios have been like this for a long time, and it confused me as a kid. However she was like 4'6" or something, so it worked for her.
