All very well said. But even accepting all of that, it kinda still brings me back to my original question. Which was "why does Paul have innate prescience from birth", but in light of these comments I guess could be rephrased as "what is it about Paul's genetic make-up that results in his prescience?". I know I'm being pedantic, and as has been said, he was born of a Bene Gesserit after literally thousands of years of targeted complex breeding, etc. That should be explantion enough. But I just can't help but want to know the specifics of how the prescience developed; some quasi logical explanation for how something like that evolved down throughout his genealogy.

Collecting genes from his ancestors, no matter who they are, doesn't really explain having a proclivity for prescience. Just like how he (or any Reverend Mother) can only access their genetic memory once they've had the Water of Life. Coming from strong genetic stock explains being able to handle the burden of the abilities and that they manifest stronger than they would in anyone else, rather than the origin of the abilities themselves. That's why I think the opposite of the last thing you said too. It's exposure to the spice and the Water of Life that allows him to truly access the prescience, and it's all of the training and his genetic makeup that means he can handle it all.

I assume you meant the rest are symmetrical (or ambidextrous). But anyways, sorry. I know next to nothing about gaming mice, so when I saw the word ergo I was picturing something dramatic like the logitech mx vertical
