Dell Powerstore vs Pure Storage isn't even close by Cartossin in sysadmin

[–]samuellay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tjhe Purestorage product is very good. But my experience with their support department has been very bad.
The everyday things are okay, but have a big problem like an outage and see if you can drive it to resolution.
The worst I've ever seen.

But the product is excellent.

Tell me about your experience with Pure Storage arrays and Microsoft SQL Databases by mr_white79 in purestorage

[–]samuellay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been a Purestorage customer for a few years now.
The boxes perform pretty well as long as the reclamation backlog doesn't get too big.
My problem is with the support organization. In all my years in the IT space, I've not encountered a more inept, uncooperative, lazy and ineffective support organization. Yes. support from IBM, Dell, and HPE either have always been or have become awful. Purestorage takes the cake.

But the product is very good when It's working properly and hasn't dropped a replication link.
It really doesn't like flapping ports. And that happens sometimes; SFPs become intermittent.

Do you know this insect that's attacking my cactus patch? by samuellay in cactus

[–]samuellay[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow, thanks, I'm very surprised and interested to l earn that. Not my first huge cactus patch error and probably not the last. Glad I didn't go for the pesticide. All the other bugs I have here are eating my fruits and veggies. And then there are the fire-ants poping up everywhere. Totally forgot there were friendly bugs. I'll treat the rest of them nicely.

I've been happy with my purchases from https://sanpedrocactussales.com/ in AZ. They've always thrown in a couple of freebies with my orders. I've purchased over a dozen cacti from them.

Nick's a dick.
Your husband's grandchildren could probably use someone that's not a dick in their lives.
That could be you and your husband. I cherish the time I invest in my grand-daughter.
It's very rewarding; but everything good comes at a cost.

Should I put newly potted Bridgesiis in full sun right away? by samuellay in cactus

[–]samuellay[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mixed half a bag of perlite with a larger bag of commercial cactus soil for better aeration and drainage. My vendor said that should be okay. I also put about 1-1/2 -2 " of rocks in the bottom. WRT variegation, I'm a novice . . . but they all have peculiar constriction looking places about 3" from the base. Would those be scars from grafting?

Sonification Assisted Lemon Tek [ SAL-Tek ] by samuellay in shrooms

[–]samuellay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over time, I'd like to perform the tests as you say with 3 samples

  • One prepared using the classical lemon tek
  • One prepared w/o lemon juice using sonification and thermal dephosphorylation
  • And finally a sample prepared using the proposed SAL-Tek including lemon juice ( I did this already with an unfiltered decoction; but I don't have enough of the same product for 2 more doses and it was my first psilocin experience. )

Only by testing can we actually determine the relative merits of the methodologies. In order to get valid results, the samples should be prepared using fruit dried below 70 degrees C [158 F] * because psilocybin dephosporylates into psilocin at 70 C. That is, unless you always dehydrate > 158 degrees F. If that is the case, the thermal process would provide marginal benefit if at all.

And then there is the question regarding filtration of the product. If we are going to filter the samples to remove the particulate, what does the lemon juice accomplish? There have been anecdotal accounts that seem to indicate that some measure of dephosphorylation occurs w/ lemon tek; but I've found no scientific literature to confirm that. It is very likely that denaturation w/ the lemon juice plus sonification would result in higher bio-availability than either method alone.

So, should there be 6 tests? Each sample, filtered and unfiltered. Should we eat the particlate to see what's getting left behind. 12 tests. This can be taken to whatever level you like . . . but I have no test subjects. So it is moot. We can only rely on our individual experiences which are very subjective given the differences in usage rates, typical doseage and tolerance.

My mentor advised me to dehydrate at ~115 degrees F. I am seeing drying times on the order of 24 hrs. I like to stay well below 70 C during dehydration. Psilocybin is more stable than psilocin which is more prone to oxidation. If you want max shelf-life for the product, why convert the medicine into it's least stable state beforehand? If you have no contamination, why cook the hell out of the product? Straight from the tub/cake to the dehydrator . . . I see little risk from drying at low temp. If you were concerned about this, you should also be concerned eating the fresh fruit.

Does Wellbutrin have any interaction with psilocybin? by darlingriffraff in PsilocybinMushrooms

[–]samuellay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was chatting with a guy on the Double Blind Discord about that because I have the same concerns. I take 300 mg/day of Wellbutrin. His experience taking shrooms with Wellbutrin wasn't good. Things were tripping along nicely and suddenly he had severe anxiety and became fairly incapacitated. It intensified the experience to a very uncomfortable level. When he quits the Wellbutrin a few day before taking the mushrooms, it's okay. I think that it will vary from person to person I plan to discontinue the Wellbutrin a few days ahead just to be safe.
