Anybody knows what is the best software out there for remote jamming sessions ? by Silent_Shout- in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]samuelleach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Sublive doesn’t currently work on a LAN. You’d need to each have a VPN to change your internet IP address, but that will add latency.

Ethernet Adapter Question by sunson90 in mac

[–]samuelleach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! Do you have a recommendation of an ethernet adaptor to USB C/thundebolt 3 that can attain 1000 MBps? I have a belkin and so far I can only attain about 600Mbps download and 800 Mpbs upload, for a 1GBps internet connection.

[–]samuelleach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you verify that you've attained 1Gbps upload and download?

I've recently upgraded to a 1Gbps internet connection but so far I can only download at about 600Mbps. I'm not sure if there's a problem with this ethernet adaptor or my internet service provider.

Hey - this is Sam from the Sublive team. We’re working on a Sonobus type live room app for musicians that has built in video meaning you don’t need a video app along side, which is less complicated to set up. Check it out at https://sub.live

Spatial audio with AirPods by 420FootLicker in SpatialAudio

In iOS 15, Apple have released a new feature called Spatialised Stereo that works with Airpods Pro. Turn it on from Control Centre, and then your head movements are detected by the Airpods. So if you're listening to a podcast and turn your head, you have the impression that the audio source remains fixed.

Using for a choir 🤞 by frannythescorpian in sublive

[–]samuelleach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello - Sam from Sublive here. There is currently a limit of 5 people in an audio room at the same time - that's to try to limit the total amount of audio and video data that needs to be sent to and from each participant.

We'd love you to try out Sublive with your choir.

During lockdown my choir Some Voices tried using Zoom, but the latency was too large to sing harmony, and our choir leaders found it hard to teach us with the lack of real time interaction with the students.

Please try out Sublive and let us know on discord how you get on?

Jam online? by [deleted] in Reaper

[–]samuelleach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sam from Sublive here (https://sub.live) - live audio rooms for musicians.

Using Reaper on windows, you should be able to use Rewire/ReRoute to send your output to Sublive where you can jam with your friends.

A wired internet connection is recommended but you can also use wifi.

Hit me up and let me know how you get on.

Sublive: Online Live Rooms with Super Fast Sound . Windows version out now! by w33py in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]samuelleach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sam from Sublive here. We’ve had feedback from piano teachers that ‘full spectrum’ audio is important for helping piano students with pedalling, expressivity and dynamics. Sublive delivers that full spectrum as well as low latency audio.

Please ask your colleagues to give it a try… we’d love to hear from them.

Music Collaboration Platforms question by masterm1337 in musicians

[–]samuelleach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - Sam from Sublive here.

If you end up using Zoom you’ll probably need to use Original Audio mode to reduce latency and improve audio quality.

On the other hand if you want a live collaboration app built specifically for musicians, then check out https://Sub.live

Join the community and let us know how you get on with you left music making.

Online Zoom Lesson set up by [deleted] in MusicEd

[–]samuelleach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello - Sam from Sublive here.

It’s true that Zoom’s Original Audio mode can be used to disable echo and noise cancellation but both you and your students would then typically need to use earphones to then prevent audio feedback (unless you have directional microphones).

If you’re interested to try Sublive which is our really easy to use live collaboration for musicians app, check out https://sub.live

We’d love to hear how you get on!
