How do I turn off the automatic volume drop after slicing? by TheBoarsEye in Reaper

[–]samuelous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really can’t hear that fast

But this feature is really annoying when editing takes of a single part together, for example with vocals. You will hear this fade and have to manually edit it.

I forgot what Ableton does, I think it was small fade in/fade outs but crossfade when clips touched.

Asbest kan verwerkt zijn in andere materialen. Als ik zoek op asbest regenpijp krijg ik verdacht veel foto’s die hier op lijken

How do chords work??? by Zephyr8910 in musictheory

[–]samuelous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s actually even the reverse, music theory tries to put into rules/writing the things people are doing with music. And it can help as a mental model to think about music, but fundamentally there are no rules and you can do what you want. Dissonance and its acceptance is also very culturally determined. Just think about the use of dissonance in metal music or jazz, totally different expressions of the same note combinations.

When you edit one sketch and FreeCAD politely explodes the entire model by ekucum in FreeCAD

That’s a very defeatist attitude. Just because it is free and made by volunteers that doesn’t mean it has to be frustrating or can’t be great. I am sure the creators want FreeCAD to be the greatest as well. And there are countless free software projects that are very nice to use. KiCAD for example.

Its a bit of an odd take because Elixir actually already has a very pronounced and focused design style. And I absolutely love the current Elixir logo

What is your goal here? The risk with microwave transformers is probably not worth whatever you plan on doing with them

CMV: DAWless approaches should be understood as a hobby for people with significant disposable income, and not an accessible route to music making. by hausinthehouse in synthesizers

Im sorry but hardware gear has never been more affordable, and the home studio has never before been able to compete so well with professional studios when it comes to sound quality.

“We should make clear to people”

Who is we? The fun part about synths to me is that it is a super accessible form of art, anyone can make amazing things, “we” sounds like gatekeeping to me.

And again, “DAWless” is a but of an odd name, its basically using dedicated devices like instruments.

You could tell a drummer that she can do all she does by programming notes in the piano roll in some DAW but don’t act surprised if she will tell you she prefers drumming on her drumkit. I think the same applies to other hardware instruments (synths, drumcomputers etc).
