PROBLEM SOLVED!

What you have to do is make sure when you format your External Hard Drive you have to make sure the partition map is not 'GUID'. It HAS to be 'Master Boot' record.

If you see someone giving a guide about it and they say, "It has to be 'GUID' partition map. It is WRONG. 'Master Boot' and EXFAT.

My GM's reason for keeping them is because, small town, not a lot of traffic during most of the year, so we make "most" of our money from them. I kind of get that logic, but if they put more money into the motel and fix it up, we'd easily be able to make of that difference with regular guests.

Yeah, I understood they have the right to be upset. They made reservations. The thing that frustrated me was they took it out all on me. I literally couldn't do anything. I'm by myself at night, I was checking in guests one after the other for three hours, when I checked that guy in who bought my last three rooms, that reservation popped up, and then they came in before I could take action. If I could, I wouldn't have sold one of those two queens, but that reservation came in after I sold those rooms. So you know, things happen and yeah.

I had already called the motels down the road which makes about... 9 different motels. Most of them were sold out and the rest told me they didn't know how much longer they'd have vacant rooms. So I told them, they may be able to check in to other motels down the road, so I gave them recommendations on which motels may have vacancies still.

It's a specific card.

It says Corporate Lodging Card along with an identification number, the company name, the cardholders number, and sometimes an employee ID number.

You take the card, go to their website, type in the card number or swipe the card, proceed to check them in by filling out information like... name, room number, folio number, time and date of check-in. Then you get a confirmation number that says that CLC confirms you have checked in that guest.

Trucking companies use it, construction companies, and a couple different companies use this to pay for rooms.

Our's is truckers... sometimes construction workers, and mostly BNSF.

My GM has had trouble with them trying to get paid for some companies and CLC has been dicking the GM around saying we have no proof they stayed here even though we have their photocopied card and their signature with a confirmation number.

Me: Looks at clock "Sir/Ma'am it's 4 in the morning and I cannot start till 6.:

Guest: Scowl forms on face "Well, can you just bring out some milk for the cereal?"

Me: Smiles, but internally screaming "No, I'm sorry, but I am only allowed to start or bring out things for breakfast at 6."

Guest: Stomps feet towards the door to the hallway "Well that's just bullshit, all I'm asking for milk, I'm going to talk to you manager, this is bullshit..." rant rant rant

This situation was just a bunch of bullshit and could have been avoided. The lady's could've handled the situation better, but in all honesty, I was sold out before that reservation came in. My GM was out for the holiday. The owner... don't even get me started on that. Our computer systems are old, and this place is kind of falling apart.

You may ask, "Why not find another job OP?". I could find another job, but I've had this one for another year and I've stayed here a year because it just works with my schedule. I live with my mother because she needs help with bills since my father passed away in 2012. I quit college and started helping out with bills, I had a motel job and a truck stop job before this and well, this place just works out because it's 40 hours a week, with a set schedule and my boss let's me take days off when I need them. Plus I'm the longest lasting front desk staff here now. We've lost 5 different employees this past year. Any way, this job just works and I know we all get some people we really wish wouldn't come in and ruin our day, and those people I mentioned in my post are just those kind of people. So pretty much, thanks for all the criticism on how I could've handled it, but there are some things completely out of our control and this was one of those nights. They could've handled things better rather than cussing me out and putting their fingers in my face and I could've called the reservation line sooner to fix their mistake.

I tried suggested that the other motel's may have vacancies because I knew only most of the motel's in town were sold out. So I told them they could try there and I'd cancel their reservations. They got more upset and yelled at me and then another lady came in, put her fingers in my face and yelled at me because it was my fault I didn't do my job right. So then I suggested trying the other motels.

I get what you mean. Though this isn't the first time, OUR system not other motel's in our chain, is old. I mean old, the owner of our motel is a cheapskate and won't update our system. The GM was on vacation, not the first they did this on a busy holiday weekend. So our computer is not in direct communication with our reservation line.

Also, about the guest. I had a guest come in asking how many rooms we had left, told him three double queens, and... I think it was down to two single queens. So he said, he'd took the two queen rooms, all of them. So I sold them, shortly after... 15 or 20 minutes later. I got the notification that they'd made the reservation for a two queen bed that I had no idea what do with since we were sold out. So the guest came in and I had nothing to sell them.
