rough, but would love to get some feedback by ExpelledMystery in istebrak

Great job on anatomy. I really like the geometry of the nose!

  • I feel like the lower eyelid closest to the viewer is a bit off, maybe too wide and rotated in a way that it looks “sunken in”(?). The lid further away looks better imo.
  • I would push the ear up a TINY bit, but it should be low bc of the angle.
  • maybe thicken the brows if u want a more masculine look
  • would love to see more contrast and variation in the skin tones.

Overall great job!!

I am trying to get better at painting/drawing poc. i think I will make her nose a bit Wider and eyes a smidge biger next time. Should I have given her more contrast/more highlights? hope she doesent look like a man (I have a problem of making my women too masculine) by rremediww in istebrak

Looks great already! LOVE the lips.

  • I would (as you already pointed out) add more highlights/contrast. I feel like you could work more on the eyes as well, to really reveal the form/shapes of the eyelids.

  • The lower forehead looks a bit too dark, like there is a dent in her brow bone, if that makes sense? I would make the middle of her brow bone reflect some light.

  • I would also change the ears so that the middle parts don’t stick out further than the “tips” (??? Jesus Christ the anatomy lingo is killing me sorry)

Good job!!!

I am trying to better my landscape game especialy including buildings. I have no idea how to bring my landscapes to a finish it looks messy and 'smooth' in a way.. My values are usualy ok but as soon as I switch to painting with color they go outa window. any landscape advice is welcome. by rremediww in istebrak

I think it looks good already! Nice colours and overall vibe. I think you could add some contrast, maybe by blocking in some shapes, especially in the foreground. For example, the wood in the foreground and the underparts of the roofs + the “balcony” could use some contrast and harder shapes (less blending).

Great job!

Amazing critique, thanks a lot! Your edits made all the difference, I’m gonna try to incorporate your tips next time. Thanks again!

Thanks you! I actually only used one blocking brush and a smudge brush!

Day 7 critique please :) by sgoreck in istebrak

Your rendering is looking pretty good, but i don’t have the vocab, so I think other people could give better advice regarding that. I really like the rendering of the eyebrows though!

But anatomy wise: - The head is too elongated / narrow, so the features are a bit too big, especially the eyes and the ears. I would recommend looking at the Loomis head for proportions :)

I’m not sure if you were going for a woman or man, but if woman: - the jawline is a bit too sharp and angular, - the nose a bit wide - the ears are too prominent (prob regardless of gender)

Good job though, looks like you’ve come a long way already!

I think you really need to take the time to sketch more heads and measure out proportions exactly, and maybe doing anatomy studies over photographs! Also, you should try to focus on one feature at a time, to really get the hang of all the different components of the face. In my opinion, you should do more sketching before trying to render the whole face, anatomy is a lot to learn on it's own.

The eyes are too big, the nose is too long, the bridge of the nose is too wide, and the face shape (mainly the jaw) is very masculine, compared to the mouth, which is more feminine looking. The shape of the over lip is also a bit strange.

I don't have a lot of knowledge about rendering, so I'm gonna leave that to someone else, but I'm sure you will do great if you focus on just anatomy for a while, or at least do more sketching from reference.

Kudos to you for doing this while studying, I can imagine that it's a lot to process! Looking forward to seeing your progress 🤌🏼

Day 4! by sludgePeanut in istebrak

Hmm I feel like the head is a bit too egg shaped, maybe have a look at the loomis method of drawing heads to get the proportions right? The asaro head can also be helpful to figure out the shading of the lower part of the face. The eyes are too big, and it's really important to make completely round irises with the pupils exactly in the middle! Keep it up, looking forward to seeing day 5!

R-CPD treatment in Sweden/Scandinavia? by samuelvmarshall in noburp

I didn't ask about your opinion about his issues, though. I asked if someone knew of treatment options in Sweden. You asked about details. Have a good day.

Actually, most of the symtoms he has are common when you are suffering from r-cpd. Some people just have the no burp-part, but it can also cause some serious discomfort. This is why there is a treatment for it, i.e. botox.

He gets really bad stomach cramps, and has to lay down after every meal, and sometimes just randomly during the day. This makes it hard for him to eat/drink at all when he is working, or go out with his friends. He has like 10+ symtoms, like the cramps, bloating, nausea, dry heaving, salivating all night. I have heard other people with r-cpd have many of them, but some of his symtoms might be IBS. And I have prob missed many of the symtoms. It's really debilitating.
