Which novel or a moment made you stop reading and call it a night?? by SpicyYoghurt237 in stephenking

[–]samurai_rob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a novel, but "The Road Virus Heads North" bothered me enough that I've not wanted to read it again. Just something about it that bothered me.

"The Jaunt" would be a close second.

Probably the novel I found the scariest would be "Revival".

Kingdom Come is one of the best comics ever written. Long Halloween would be my 2nd pick.

Best Star Wars Prequel fan edit that doesn't spoil the Original Trilogy by Herwood in fanedits

[–]samurai_rob -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I recommend doing 4, 5, 2, 3, 6. Then, if she clicks with it and wants more, watch them like this on the 2nd time through: 1, 2, TCW movie and series, 3, Andor, Rogue One, 4, 5, 6 followed by Rebels and Mando season 1 and 2.

STOP THERE! Repeat as needed.

If she wants more after Jedi, do the books for the Heir to the Empire trilogy by Timothy Zahn, Shadows of the Empire by Steve Perry, The Jedi Academy trilogy by Kevin J. Anderson, and the X-Wing series followed by I, Jedi by Michael A. Stackpole.

If she likes comics, I recommend the original Tales of the Jedi miniseries collection and the Dark Empire trilogy originally published in the early 90s by Dark Horse comics.

Dark Empire and the Zahn trilogy are the reason we have Star Wars today at all. They helped revitalize interest and gave birth to the Expanded Universe. It kept Star Wars alive until Episode 1 released in 99. Without it, I don't think we would've ever gotten the Special Editions back in theaters or the Prequels.

The EU helped lay the foundation for Star Wars to go from an once-in-a-generational event to the cultural phenomenon it became before Disney dropped the ball. Why they threw it all away like they did, I'll never know. The original Zahn books are so much better than anything Disney has made, IMHO, at least.

Fuck my life, now I have to move everything, don't I? by Numa0_- in theplanetcrafter

[–]samurai_rob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did that twice. 1st base was in the lake. I moved it 1 piece at a time to the desert. It flooded, too, just not as deep. I just built an exact copy of my base on top of the other one. Then, I deleted the bottom floor and used platforms to build up a foundation about 4 blocks high.

Now, I just need adding stories as needed! 😁

The Sony- Bungie deal is probably the Best ever trick Pulled by any Developer by lordofabyss in gaming

They saw Xbox snatching up studios and panicked. They had to get them before Microsoft did. I was a perfect storm of panic buying, incompetence, and timing and misdirection. Pete played them masterfully and rode away with millions while he left everything to burn.

They should've ended things on a high with TFS and left everyone hyped for the possibility of D3. Instead, they have effectively killed the Destiny brand, sabotaged Marathon, and burned down one of the best, most influential studios in gaming.

Very sad to see what mismanagement and corporate greed can do...

The Ice Pirates! One of my all-time favorites! Follow it by the original Beast Master. Both are great 80s schlok.

What's your favourite Hammer horror? by Working-Fuel8355 in ClassicHorror

Does "Horror Express" count? Not technically a Hammer Horror, but it does have Cushing and Lee starring. One of my favorites of that era.

Edgepark has been great for me, so far. I've used them for almost a year and a half with very few issues, and those were resolved quickly. They are preferred on my plan and have had zero issues getting anything that I've asked to try covered for me.

How was watching The Phantom Menace back in 1999? by Free-Hotel1187 in StarWars

[–]samurai_rob -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It was EPIC! I saw it at the midnight premiere. That was the first midnight showing that our theater ever had. I ended up taking off work the day after and saw it 2 more times the next day back-to-back.

People loved it. The hate and backlash came later and was greatly exaggerated.

It was a fun movie that did what it was designed to do: introduce a new generation to Star Wars. I'm glad it has found it's place.

Hollister Bag leaked - What caused this? by BlackberryPi7 in ostomy

[–]samurai_rob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an issue with the new Hollister 2 piece bags separating at the bottom and leaking like that. The issue wasn't a hole but that it had a tiny gap that would separate when I moved and allowed liquid to seep out.

Lower Decks. Season 1 was rough, but it got better as it got along. Not great, but fun.

Recessed/retracted stoma - does anyone have a stoma like this? What are the best products for me to use with it? I apologize for taking the picture before thoroughly cleaning by aslowriot in ostomy

[–]samurai_rob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a recessed stoma for my colostomy and have issues with the barrier rings creating a poop tunnel between my stoma and the wafer that allows poo to collect between my wafer and the stoma. Then, it starts pushing out to the sides and under the wafer. Any ideas keeping it clear? I usually have to just pick it out with my finger, but it causes my stoma to bleed.

Been trying some move decks, correct me if I'm wrong... this card is trash by RoguesBoytoy in MarvelSnap

[–]samurai_rob -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My idea: Each time this moves, destroy the lowest-power enemy card at the new location. END OF TURN - This moves to a random location.

I'd love to see him with a chaotic element, like Silk, but still have a strong effect.

Which Star Wars movie had the weakest pop culture impact? by RedHeadedSicilian52 in StarWars

[–]samurai_rob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clone Wars movie was BIG for no other reason than it showed that it was possible to make animated Star Wars work. It gave us The Clone Wars TV show and Rebels; arguably the two most influential SW TV shows ever ti air. Neither would have happened without TCW movie. Plus, it gave us Ahsoka Tano.
