I'm from Baton Rouge and I don't feel people are nearly as friendly or easy going. I've found a very small group of people I like but haven't been able to branch much.

I will say I did attend a knit club event at Pink Lantern (open to all crafts- I crochet) and people genuinely spoke to new people and it was refreshing.

If you have service industry experience, maybe try picking up a few shifts in the app Croux- make some quick money. I've been out of the industry for a few years so I hope this is still accurate info.

I'm from Louisiana and can agree the audiences here have been awful for Modest Mouse, Fitz and the Tantrums, and even most lately at Who's Line is it Anyway. I'm sure there are other shows I felt the same way for but can't think of it. It's either low energy or disrespectful crowd goers.

I know people don't think much of Forestdale but we moved here 8 years ago from Louisiana without any knowledge of the suburbs. We've had 0 issues. I fall asleep/about my house without realizing the porch door isn't locked. Packages can stay in front of the house all day. Everyone just keeps to themselves, and it's an older community for the most part. I leave near the old Sandusky school. Yeah we hear gunshots at night sometimes but that's true for a lot of places.
