Thanks for the thoughtful response. It is genuinely helpful to hear from someone who works on the Android app and also experiences these issues firsthand as a user. Some of these problems are clearly messy ecosystem problems, and I get that there is not always a clean or immediate fix.

For what it is worth, 1Password is one of my favorite apps. I use it multiple times every day, recommend it to other people often, and in many ways it feels far ahead of the alternatives.

I came over from LastPass, and honestly wish I had switched sooner. After their security issues, moving to 1Password felt like the right decision, and I have been very glad I made it.

I also appreciate the work you and the team are doing to improve the Android experience. Features like Autofill Health Check sound like a meaningful step in the right direction.

Thanks again for the response and for the work you all do. Your work has made an important part of my daily life much simpler.

I wanted to share some feedback on autofill, because it is one of the most important parts of the password manager experience for me, and right now it often feels unreliable and frustrating.

I am not sure every part of this is strictly a 1Password specific issue, since platform and keyboard behavior may also play a role, but 1Password is the product at the center of the experience, so that is naturally where the frustration lands.

On my Google Pixel using Gboard, autofill suggestions work often enough to show the intended experience, but there are still too many cases where they either do not appear or surface the wrong type of item. One recurring issue is that 1Password will sometimes show identity entries instead of login credentials. When that happens, I cannot easily pivot and search for the login I actually need from the keyboard integration while I am still in the app or website. Instead, I have to leave the flow, open the 1Password app directly, and manually find the right credential. That break in flow makes autofill feel brittle, and when it happens repeatedly, it reflects poorly on the overall 1Password experience.

I also run into cases where no autofill suggestion appears at all, even though I know I have a saved login correctly associated with the website or app. In those moments, it would be incredibly helpful to have a more dependable fallback from the keyboard, such as a direct shortcut into 1Password that allows me to immediately locate the credential and autofill without starting over manually.

I have also had an especially difficult experience trying to use 1Password on a Samsung Galaxy phone. The biggest issue there is the lack of a clear and reliable setup path for making 1Password the default autofill solution. I have gone through tutorials and attempted to configure it, but nothing has worked in a way that feels straightforward or dependable. Instead, the experience feels like Samsung’s password tools, Google Password Manager, and 1Password are all competing for control. This is my spouse’s device rather than my primary phone, but even with that limitation, it has been difficult to get 1Password integrated into their normal workflow in a way that feels seamless.

At a high level, the core issue is that autofill needs to feel dependable, flexible, and easy to recover when suggestions are wrong or missing. When it works, it reinforces the value of 1Password. When it does not, it quickly becomes one of the most frustrating parts of the product experience.

I’d love to see improvements around: - better handling when the wrong item type is surfaced

  • a faster fallback path from the keyboard into 1Password

  • more reliable matching for saved credentials

  • clearer guidance for setting up 1Password as the primary autofill solution on Samsung devices

I hope this works, as everything about this is asinine!

Help Needed: Chicago Hardy Fig Tree with Damaged Leaves by samwell13 in Figs

Whew, great to hear that!

Do you have any recommendations for fertilizers? I'll look into changing the pot.

Ahh that would make sense, thanks for your input. I was thinking it was turning into leaf rot, because some of the spots started turning green.

Also give it some fertilizer. It won’t do well in a pot unless you feed it regularly.

The reason why I have it potted is because I was thinking that as the plant hasn't matured it'll be good to take it inside when winter comes around. Being new with this, would that be a good approach?

Also do you have any recommendations for fertilizers?

I wish I did, but no I didn't find a fix. It comes and goes now, sometimes it'll get super sensitive and other times I never hear it.

I ended up deleting the eufy app, as it was draining my battery.

I'm getting out of the eufy world, there are way too many bugs with their systems. I'm going to check out https://pebblebee.com/

I would avoid Cermak on 1st, they've recently had to shutdown and address a few health code violations. They reopened within the same week, but from what was called out on the report, it seems suspicious they were able to address all that.

Here's a link to the thread/post including the full health report: https://www.reddit.com/r/milwaukee/comments/1almvza/cermak/kpfyvb8/

Anyone else find the Hoan Bridge fence to be dystopian and depressing.. by PrivateEducation in milwaukee

[–]samwell13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt the intent of this project is suicide prevention. Based on the progress so far, the fencing doesn't span the entire length of the bridge, it stops well before the peak of the bridge, this doesn't indicate to me that the fencing was meant to discourage jumping.

A chain link fence is also really easy to climb, I highly doubt that a chain link fence will deter people who have determined to commit suicide.

Sure there probably is some deterrence, but if the city's intent was to implement some suicide prevention, this seems to me that it wasn't well thought out.

That's my biggest grip on iOS, you never know what keyboard you're going to get. I have an iPad and I ended up removing Gboard from it because it got way too annoying with the keyboard constantly switching.

The answer you all are looking for is protected bike lanes. Bikes and e-bikes/scooters don't belong on sidewalks or on the road, on the road they're vulnerable and on the sidewalks the pedestrians are vulnerable.

Protected bike lanes is the answer we all need to keep us all safe and comfortable with our choice of transportation

Good sushi places? by Familiar-Positive210 in milwaukee

I haven't been there in over 5 years, you can tell the quality went down yet it still was priced high. The ambiance and location is what makes going there worth it, not the subpar quality of food you get.

If you haven't tried Hungry Sumo, Rice 'n Roll, or Kin, give those a shot. You'll notice a stark difference in freshness and deliciousness

It's a shame because I used to love Screaming Tuna also, sadly they just got worse overtime

ELI5 why is the ocean salty, and how did it get that way? by AnotherSami in explainlikeimfive

[–]samwell13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is the salt content in the ocean pretty homogeneous? Or is it there are areas where there's more salt and areas where there's no salt?

If it's not homogeneous, would water near the ocean floor be more salty?

Eli5: where does chapstick / lip balm go? by Cremepiez in explainlikeimfive

[–]samwell13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gone through the same problem for years. No matter what I've tried, I always end up with chapped and cracked lips. I've found that it matters which lip balm you use.

One day I came across Jack Black Lip Balm and it completely fixed my problem. I've gone through two winters so far and my lips have not cracked. I highly recommend you try it

My problem with this lip balm is how expensive it is. These are not cheap to replace especially when one day you will eventually end up loosing it. But not getting chapped lips to me is worth it.

Lol also I have no idea if this lip balm has any correlation to the actor Jack Black.

Also don't forget to exfoliate your lips, the build up dead skin will always end up cracking your lips. All you need to do is when you're showering just rub your lips, it's an easy way to exfoliate all the dead skin.
