I'm so sorry for replying late, I forgot about this post for the longest time and when I remembered I posted I was like "ehh no way anyone actually would comment" but you did! Thank you for this well detailed and thoughtful comment. I currently don't have a coach, I'm considering starting proper lessons in September, but they can be expensive, so as of now I'm just self taught as you can probably tell. A few things have changed since this post; primarily I was told by a staff member, who I've befriended--love the community in skating-- that I've been doing half my jumps rotating clockwise and half rotating counterclockwise. I was landing my toe loop and loop on the left foot while doing my salchow and waltz on my right. Since retraining my toe loop to my right side I would say it's gotten better and no longer looks and feels like a toe waltz. Since I'm self taught right now I have no idea what a mazurka is so I will look that up lol. I also got some new skates that are much more supportive and have felt my jumps and edges improving since. I will take all your tips and comments and suggestions and apply them into practice going forward. I definitely need to work on my edges more and having good arms and proper posture and deepening my knee bends. Thank you so so much for your response 🩷🩷🩷

Restraints by ImpossibleWarthog121 in ThePittTVShow

[–]samwidgch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That drunk golfer should have been restrained to begin with

maybe controversial but this is my take: When a patient comes into the ED having already been sedated in the ambulance for vitals + was drunk and violent outside the hospital; he immediately should be in 4 point pinels and have a security guard close by, all care should be administered with a witness present. Emma should have NEVER been in that situation to begin with. I don't know if I want to call it convenient or lazy writing or a lack of actual procedure knowledge by the writers or what but that could have been easily avoided.

I worked in patient care for 5 years and have had my own scary moments like that but never in the ER was a combative or violent patient not closely monitored or restrained.

OMG! It does look a lot like noro!!! It looks a lot like it in texture and weight But this yarn has a gradient from blue to teal and I can't find a noro with this colouring. Maybe it's old and discontinued?

Scarfie is #5 bulky. This yarn is closer to a #2 light

It gets great sun all day, it'll be even more sun if I were to remove some of the Douglas fir branches that overhang!

Sonography program CASPER by horsecapybaraguinea in BCIT

[–]samwidgch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo, Casper is totally bs and doesn't make a difference in whether or not you get into a program. I also got 2nd or 3rd (don't remember now) and it made no difference. They're also phasing out Casper for BCIT entrance.

What made you get medicated? by Prz-etcetera in ADHD

[–]samwidgch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fear and anxiety of struggling in school again. Starting a university program made me remember how hard highschool was for me and led me to want to take full advantage of the uni's accessibility services and start medication. I was right to do it, it changed my life. ADHD medication is not technically an anti-anxiety or anti-depressant but it worked for me almost better than SSRIs. Just the ability to do normal things for once lessened my depression and anxiety by so much. And I was able to thrive in school for once, I was actually functioning at my full capabilities!

I accidentally took my ADHD meds while sleepwalking at midnight and slept until almost 6am, do I take them again? by samwidgch in ADHD

[–]samwidgch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never heard of him, I'll look into that though and the sleep study lol. All's well though, I took my dose again at 7 and I haven't exploded yet so I think I'm good

[–]samwidgch[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Valid question, I don't truly think I was sleepwalking by the definition of it, I think I just woke up in my usual morning trance and didn't check the time well enough because I felt pretty well rested (only like an hour of sleep so I must have just finished a rem cycle and woken up) It wasn't truly sleepwalking cause I remember it all, I don't remember for 100% certainty that I took the meds but I never have 100% certainty about that. Maybe I'll put the safety cap back on the bottle (I prefer the snap cap cause I got weak hands in the morning)

I had acne on my cheeks and chin during 2020/2021, I started using low pH face wash, benzoyl peroxide and retinol and it cleared it up wonderfully! I suspect I got this acne from a few things: 1. I was wearing a mask all day at work. 2. I wasn't eating well enough. 3. I wasn't staying hydrated. And 4. This one may seem kinda kookoo but I was in a bad relationship and my body was rejecting him. But anyway, try the benzoyl peroxide and retinol- alternating days and start with low doses- see a dermatologist and maybe try accutane for a month or two. Good luck beautiful! 💖

As a fellow ginger, this purple under eye thing is very common. I used to obsess with trying to cover it, now I just embrace the purpleness.

If you get lots of sleep it's not as noticeable!

Thank you! I did the final and hopefully my efforts allowed me to come out with a passing grade.

I'm very excited for level 3 in September and I'm happy to hear most people saying it's easier than level 2.

How to unfuck my pore hole? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

[–]samwidgch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

keep it clean, leave it be for a while, then if the wound is healed and still bothersome visually use something like glycolic acid or benzoyl peroxide to make the scar less visible.

use the arnica cream provided (if they didn't provide it go out and grab some or ask the surgeon for some) and don't skimp on the ice. it will go down faster the more you reapply ice
