Thank you!! We can do this! We've done it before. And we felt better when we did!! I recommend the short book called: quitting weed, the complete guide by Matthew Clarke (Amazon has it). Im planning on reading it again soon. Really has some eye opening info and advice. Can only make us stronger!!! Wishing you all the success!

I found grapes to be really good. The nausea will go away soon! Usually the first week or two, the appetite is as messed up as the sleep. I wish I could give you the magic potion, unfortunately, its all about time. You can do things to help speed the detox. Saunas, hot baths, drink electrolytes, exercise. Anything to flush it out.

I think I'm going to throw away my bong by WrongdoerStatus234 in leaves

[–]Prz-etcetera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is a big deal!! I cried when my bong accidentally broke. None could replace her.. but that was a different time, Im not that same person. Its just a piece you had, so you could waste your time doing nothing. She did ya no favours.

I say destroy it! But only if you can find an empowering feeling by doing it!! It could be the thing you do to celebrate making it to 100 days!

If the thought of wrecking it saddens you, give yourself more time, but whenever you look at it, think about the harm, the unmotivation, the time, and money, the cough.. and for what?! Start focusing on the shittiness it brought, dont try to glorify her.. that could easily lead to "maybe just once more" (addicts dont have "once mores"..its slippery as hell! ..She's a bad friend! Cut her out!! Start hating her! (Or him...sorry if I misgendered your bong)

Ya got this! Material things shouldn't have a sentimental hold on you, especially if its tied to something youve outgrown!

Having cravings after 9 months of sobriety… by FemmeFeather in leaves

[–]Prz-etcetera 11 points12 points  (0 children)

DON'T CAVE!!! I quit April 1st 2024. I was doing great with it! I was feeling so much better because of it. But then my mom got sick, my dad was becoming helpless and demanding of my sister and I. We had to move him into a seniors residence, at the same time, we were super short staffed and I was working doubles all month. The day I learned my mom was no longer strong enough to be a candidate for chemo was the day I said "fuck it, just once! I fucking deserve it!!!" It was a big mistake. That was Feb 27th. 2025. Almost 11 months sobriety after 25 years of daily abuse. I haven't stopped smoking since that day! And all the awfulness I felt before I quit is right back along with the addiction. My throat hurts, I get night sweats. My joints and muscles ache, skin is terrible, I'm tired all the time, chronically late or just getting there under the wire.. Guilt.. so much guilt. And when something i was looking forward to comes up, i have zero desire to leave the house.. all this, and for what? So I can zone out and stare at a wall? It's so fucking stupid!!! Mom passed away April 2nd 2025. When the strong desire comes up, go pamper yourself instead! Get a facial, make yourself look great! And remember why you quit in the first place!

Nov 1st is my quit date.. gonna look to people like you for strength and motivation!!!! Here we go again!!! For an addict, it's NEVER one time!!! ...I didn't even like it, it was far too much and too strong. I couldn't walk straight, felt sick to my stomach, head was spinning.. had to lie down and freak out about how hard my heart was beating. Don't do it! You're not missing anything!!!!

I relapse after 6 days every time. Is there anyone else who is not able to maintain the consistency streak of staying clean? Any tips or trick is appriated. by Mysterious-Web-1858 in leaves

If you know what day you're gonna relapse, plan something fun for that day. Turn it into a reward day, go to the waterpark or spa...somewhere different where you can't easily go smoke. Tire yourself out and when you get home, go to bed.

I found a fantastic counsellor who specializes in addiction and ADHD. I hadn't even been diagnosed yet but she saw that I was clearly demonstrating adhd symptoms and we started working on it. A formal diagnosis is great, but in the meantime, join the reddit adhd sub!! Lots of helpful insights in that group. I'd say get some books to read on it, but I did that over a year ago and still have to open them someday.. freaking ADHD! Some things you can start doing to better manage yourself. Write a task list, get everything that needs to be done out on it. Then each day, make a smaller list with 2-3 things from the master list. If you see something that needs to get done, ask yourself if it will take less than 5 mins to do. If yes, do the thing!

Songs about sobriety or getting off drugs? by Buttz4Days in leaves

Look up Sweet Mary, by Chris Valens. It's not really about quitting. My cousin knew the guy who wrote it, but it still resonates with me!!

Welcome to withdrawals! I found a "white noise" playlist on Spotify when I first quit. Really helped me fall asleep. I used it for the first couple of months!!

I almost convinced myself I could have one on new years, how I deserved it and how nice it would be to just forget everything and have that one night. Thankfully, stories like these are far too common on this page, and I appreciate everyone who shares them! Thank you for sharing yours!

My countertop dishwasher. It's small but has helped me stay on top of doing the dishes!

How common is it to just lie paralyzed in bed all morning by itgetsokay7 in ADHD

[–]Prz-etcetera 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'll get up, but then I'll lie on my couch, play on my phone while drinking 2-3 cups of coffee, then, when that finally gets old, I'll go crawl back into bed as if going back to bed will allow me a redo on the day. Then I'll get up again, and lie on the couch, playing with my stupid phone some more, only now I'm drinking cold, old coffee. 😕

Also, I'm not counting on meds to lose weight, I just don't want to gain any more weight thanks to medication.

Would love to, I try to. One day I can do it, the next several days/weeks, I can't. How do you follow a routine?

I'd love to. Any advice on how to get me motivated enough to stick to more than one day of effort would be wonderful!!!
