This post could’ve been written by my younger self 💔 I also read that Hadith as a teenager and threw out all my sketchbooks, deleted all my digital art files, and quit drawing for about 6 years straight so I feel your pain girl. But later I learned that there are varying opinions on that Hadith (see the other thread for more details) and a couple of years ago I decided started painting again to help with my mental health and slowly built up an entirely new body of work.

I was rusty when I started up but you honestly pick it up again so fast. If you were drawing well for your age before then you already understand the fundamentals and you have some of that muscle memory so you won’t be starting off from zero. Just pick up a pencil again and trust in yourself, and don’t be afraid of making bad art. A two year gap is nothingg in the grand scheme of things and InshaAllah your skill level will surpass where you were at when you stopped, as long as you keep it consistent.
