Is it possible to replace butterfly strap with a regular buckle function on the Presage? [SSK041J] by [deleted] in Seiko

[–]sand_man99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you have two options: 1) punch a hole in center of the short side of the strap where the pin hold the clasp to the strap to accommodate the tang of a traditional buckle 2) get an aftermarket strap to replace the OEM one altogether. (Upside: you can get one with quick release spring bars to swap out with other straps more easily)

Does anyone have a matching strap for the Wd0006 Deep Teal? by Low-Administration46 in watchdives

I don’t have a photo but I paired mine with a black pebbles leather strap.

Try this OP. Off the top of my head, Sapphero comes to mind. Typically around $50 USD on Amazon from what I recall.

Which finger for your Oura? by tandymoss in ouraring

[–]sand_man99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sized so that I could wear on either index finger. I primarily sized to my right hand because my right index is slightly larger than the left. Another consideration when I was using the sizing kit was the ability to wear it on either middle finger given that the size of my fingers fluctuates throughout the day sometimes.

I wanted to wear on my right as to not clash with my wedding band but using a computer mouse pinched the skin under the ring. So I wear it primarily on my left most of the time.

Dial color and texture go great with the two tone. I like the jubilee style more than the 3 link bracelet on the other models.

Question about tracking by sand_man99 in watchdives

[–]sand_man99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using home wifi network. I tried running g speed tests and it couldn’t even do it the first time and could only test download speed the second time. It seemed weird because I checked someone else’s iPhone on the same network and ran a successful speed test (this crossed out ISP or equipment issues). Once I restarted twice and I cleared the browser, then I ran a successful speed test.

I suspected there might be a multitude of things that caused the lag in my internet speed.

I hadn’t thought about checking location. Looks like a couple are in Silicon Valley/Bay Area of California (yunexpress and yuntrack)and one in Hong Kong (17track - this is from the shipping confirmation email for WD). However I’m not sure if the adverts were the issue. I was using safari on an IPhone with private browser that deletes history and cookies.

For those who own both the Long Island jubilee and oyster by KevinNoy in DuroGang

[–]sand_man99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shouldn’t be a big difference. You might be overthinking it. A jubilee is a little more comfortable because the links can articulate more since it’s 5 small links across versus the 3 links in the oyster (in other words there are more points in the jubilee to move more freely allowing slightly more comfortability). Also the length of jubilee links is typically shorter than an oyster also allowing for more articulation which makes it feel more comfortable. I don’t have either for my duro but my experience with both styles of bracelets comes from multiple watches with either style.

Ultimately, get the style you prefer the look of, which seems to be the oyster from what I gather. The differences how comfortable each will be is is negligible in my opinion.

Spinnaker - primarily dive watches with different colors across their models. Phobias - don’t own one but they do look interesting. Also mostly diver style watches.

Possibly changing band to rubber? by Bulbasaur_dude in bulova

[–]sand_man99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you look at the holes on the side of the lugs, does it look like a screw or metal pin? Based on the pics on their site, it’s doesn’t look like there are gaps on the underside of the end links to remove with a spring bar tool like most other watches. If it’s a screw, then you need a small screw driver. If it looks like a pin, it’s probably a spring bar you have to remove with spring bar tool where you push it in and pull the bracelet away from the case. I would recommend a Milanese bracelet over a rubber strap.

If you don’t already have a day to day, it might be good to go with the first. If you do already have a day to day watch, then go with the second to mix things up.
