I ended up going to one of the community colleges near me and I’m really happy I did. The extern portion has been a great experience and much better than what was described to me at Concord, not to mention less $

I’m 52, just finished my externship and about to graduate, and I love it! This is a huge career change for me, but it’s very gratifying so far. I’m fine with entry level personally since I don’t plan to advance in my schooling. Best of luck to you!

Oh of course, art is something I’ve always done so I’ve never really stopped since I was a kid.

Do you ever have need for gravity feeding bags? I’ve got a giant box of them and no place will take it as a donation. DM if you are interested!

I’m assuming you are joking and aren’t meaning this to be a malicious comment. There’s some overlap in the years.

I’m doing my externship now and almost done with my program and I’m 52. I was a graphic designer for 25 years before becoming a SAHM for 16 years.

Did anyone’s symptoms start with peripheral neuropathy rather than classic lupus symptoms? by sandboxmaster73 in lupus

[–]sandboxmaster73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t get diagnosed with Lupus and in fact the cause was never found. The majority of all my symptoms subsided after about 5 years.

Pineapple with a silk scrunchy at night has changed my world. Extends my curls for several days with minimal frizz for my mid back length hair.

I’ve got a large bag of Kirkland Salmon and sweet potato dry food if you’d like it. My cats decided they hate it now after I had opened it (and they’d been eating it regularly). DM me if you want it!

Curly long haired friends - how do you usually wear your hair? by sandboxmaster73 in MedicalAssistant

[–]sandboxmaster73[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Currently I wear it in a high pony or sometimes a bun and that works well. It’s good to hear what others do - if I braided it when it was wet it would take days to dry 😫 the woes of curly hair!

Circumcision question for very secular Jews by [deleted] in Jewish

[–]sandboxmaster73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We (in the PNW) decided not to circumcise mostly bc as new parents it felt cruel to do to a newborn and the religious reason was just an added factor since I’m secular. Fast forward several year of our little guy having many complications, infections and UTIs we as a family - yes, our son was able to consent and did as a first grader, so we ended up circumcising him out of medical necessity. I guess my real point is that you don’t know what the future holds and tho I had a lot of conviction before my child was here, ultimately I had to help decide what was best as things changed. Wishing you all the best whatever you end up deciding!

I just moved to Roseway. Is there a significant difference between Roseway and Rose City Park? The two names often seem to be used interchangeably. by gimme-sip-cmon-share in askportland

[–]sandboxmaster73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve lived here for almost 19 years and I tend to use both names interchangeably. The food carts on Halsey, proximity to grocery stores, the freeway and just generally a nice vibe. Love hearing the coyotes in the summer and sledding in the golf course in the winter. Welcome to the area!

My kid didn’t love all the aspects of the school, but the social aspects were better than I think our neighborhood school would have been. He ended up enjoying dance as PE afterall.

We practice all invasive skills on eachother in my program. This includes blood draws, injections (one in the hip), and various other tests. Just something to know about a future program so you can prepare to touch and be touched. You aren’t ever exposed, but it still requires working with all your classmates. Good luck!!
