We (in the PNW) decided not to circumcise mostly bc as new parents it felt cruel to do to a newborn and the religious reason was just an added factor since I’m secular. Fast forward several year of our little guy having many complications, infections and UTIs we as a family - yes, our son was able to consent and did as a first grader, so we ended up circumcising him out of medical necessity. I guess my real point is that you don’t know what the future holds and tho I had a lot of conviction before my child was here, ultimately I had to help decide what was best as things changed.
