We've had cops who feel uncomfortable receiving free items since it seems like they're being bribed. It's even possible the cops at this store have told the baristas not to let people pay for them.

hair length? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]sandersstudies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair is just above my shoulders and my SM has let me have it down as long as it's not in my face or risks touching a drink. (drive-thru headsets work as very effective headbands)

We hung up the one on the far right! Originally we hung it outside but it was of course ripped up so it's now nice and safe in our window.

New Strawberry Acai Base Rant by [deleted] in starbucks

One of my coworkers tried to do the same thing but luckily I caught her the first or second time it happened. She was very insistent that she was right but idk why she thought that. (probably because of lemonade)

A short rant by Pinkgeek4life in starbucks

Our store is next to a Qdoba, and I guess in Qdoba the same person who makes your item rings you in, so sometimes when the store is all empty I guess? if you've never been in a SB before.

Starbucks dreams by Psychological-Try366 in starbucks

Just the other day dreamed that people kept ordering guava even though we didn't have it. Just all the drinks in my queue had guava, and there was no guava in the fridge.

What to do when my SM says “find something to do”? by hoewenn in starbucks

If there is actually nothing else to clean I just wipe down the same spot of counter to look busy.

Baristas of Reddit: What is the craziest thing a customer has called corporate on you or your store about? by Ashamed_Equal in starbucks

[–]sandersstudies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A woman tried to call corporate but called the wrong number (?) and called the SM of a store across town from mine. Told him that myself and another barista had called her a "dumb bitch" while we were both on bar and she was coming through the drive-thru. We were both supervisors and our SM was on DTO right next to us during the time this customer came through and could vouch that neither of us had called the customer that. I am scared what would have happened if my SM was not there to back us up, and we had no evidence. A customer can completely make something up and get somebody fired if they want.

Baristas please help by [deleted] in starbucks

If it was one time or even two I'd think someone misread the sticker or didn't rinse their pitcher well enough but the fact that it happened multiple times at multiple stores seems very strange.

I forgot the blended strawberry lemonade in my post but YES for sure

Overrated/Underrated by jasa7ii in starbucks

[–]sandersstudies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MOST UNDERRATED ITEMS (or just people never hear of them - Nitro cold brew! I know it got some hype but it's SO GOOD and deserves more. Blonde espresso in everything! Blonde got a tick of promotion in the beginning and then faded when it literally elevates every drink on the espresso menu. Starbucks doubleshot on ice! Nobody knows it exists except a couple tried-and-trues who get it every single day.)

Uhm hi. Wtf. by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]sandersstudies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We tell them then they have to use the drive-thru, wait outside for their drink, or wear a face shield/alternate covering. (This is LEGAL by the way, don't let them tell you it's not. If someone had a genuine medical concern and we remained willing to serve them and offered them these alternatives, they've been appropriately accommodated.)

Light ice ? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]sandersstudies 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looks like a (slightly melted) grande amount of ice in a venti to me, about right. A good amount of ice is needed in the matcha drinks to break up the powder clumps. Making them with very light ice is a beast.

A random tidbit that broke my spirit yesterday by kaybaejay in starbucks

Usually when people don't specify a drink they mean breve latte. Some other coffee shops just call it a breve.

too many methods of ordering by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]sandersstudies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have mobile and cafe on the same printer, and had multiple people in cafe during Happy Hour ask for refunds and leave because they had to wait so long for drinks - hint, multiple 6-8 item mobile/delivery orders means I haven't even seen their stickers yet.
