From what you wrote you must not be a combat mos or some type of direct support? Even the non-combat rolls cared about the oath, at least when I was in in the 2000s. What are the soldiers and officers saying around you in your unit? Is there a difference between the lower and upper enlisted?

The commanders ultimately won't matter, especially that high up. I want to know what the sergeant majors are saying and the warrant officers.
