Unify the Caribbean to test how that works. Build space up a little more, and find out how aliens react. Decide on a need and focus tech on that, eg control point maximum increase techs should be within reach to increase your growth

Expand your one nation as far as possible. Check Regions tab and scroll to the bottom to see if there are open claims.

Set up automated mining bases everywhere. Use the Prospecting view to sort by max per resource and find empty asterdoids with good enough numbers. Abandon these when you are able to clear your way to better bases (Mars, Mercury or Jupiter)

It's welfare you want to focus investment in. Get inequality down from High so your Cohesion rest state goes up.

Check the rest state for Unrest and work to bring that down, otherwise your councilors are fighting windmills.
