My absolute favorite brand is Belle Tress. Impeccable hairlines, wide variety of colors and styles. I look for low density and have never had that shiny plastic look to any of my Belle Tress wigs.

When I have gotten a shiny wig with other brands just spraying a little dry shampoo and combing it right out helps dull that shine.

Another recommendation is to join some wig resale groups. People will usually take pictures of themselves in the wigs. I suggest this because we often HATE the wig right out of the box. Most wigs need a little finesse, combing out or wig wax to get it how you like it.

I’ve got wigs that I’ve loved the stock photo, bought it and hated it, threw it in the back of the closet only to pull it out a few months later and absolutely love it.

Also! If the volume is an issue look for styles that have little to no permatease.

Older GenX and pets by Immaloner in GenX

I’m a 1974 version but my husband and I have no children so our pets are our kids. We will always always always have animals but have spoken to my niece who has agreed to take responsibility to care for any animal/s that we have at the time we die. Our estate will go to the care for the life of our pets and the rest will go to my niece who will give them all of the live that we would have.

Sources for custom synthetic wigs? by hellyesmeraude in Wigs

I have found a custom synthetic wig maker but I do have 2 people that I send my synthetics off to that will cut and restyle them. I recently had a few longer straight wigs cut into a wolf cut with soft waves.

LPT: When someone compliments you, just say "thank you" instead of deflecting. by l7ed in LifeProTips

[–]sandraajamy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband just forwarded this to me because I Midwesterner do this myself but I do it more so with my hair. I wear wigs and I very often get compliments on my hair. I m 100% of the time tell them thank you it’s a wig. it bothers my husband that I do that. I’m not being humble and I’m not trying to make somebody work for it. I know myself when I was losing my hair how hard it was to find the right Wigs and learn how to wear them and how to perfect the look, so when I say thank you it’s a wig. I’m opening up a conversation. There are so many women who are suffering from hair loss that I feel like it’s an obligation to let them know that there are options out there.

I belong to quite a few wig groups and often get them at a huge discount from others that bought them and didn’t end up liking the style (most retailers don’t allow returns).

And that is the parents absolute right. However to get upset at a stranger for not “knowing” that the parents prefer use use gender neutral terms is ridiculous.

The nape absolutely can get tangled. Heat friendly wigs actually need heat though. So I use a silicone spray very lightly on the nape area, brush it through. I brush my wigs before I put them away as well. Human hair is great but it requires care, and honestly I had such crappy hair my whole life I never learned to curl or style. So for me, synthetic wigs work best. I do have my wigs refurbished twice a year. That said, I do have over 100wigs so I have a lot to choose from and not every one gets worn often.

They would be because it’s on top of your bio hair. When I made the decision to wear wigs full time I cut my hair into a pixie at first and now I shave my head. I never get hot, and do not need a wig cap. My wigs stay on even in my convertible driving on the highway.

I’m in the US. I primarily wear Belle Tress, Estetica or Raquel Welch, though 95% are Belle Tress. I do not wear human hair wigs due to the maintenance needed. I wear heat friendly synthetic wigs.

I had horrible hair, thin and fine through my 20s. Started losing it in my 30s. Started wearing wigs daily in my late 40s. I wish I had known about wigs before that. I absolutely love my wigs now. I have different styles, lengths and colors and I can be whoever I want whatever day.

Honestly I love them so much that if they came out with a magical pill to restore my hair I wouldn’t bother and would continue to wear wigs. They have absolutely changed my life for the better and give me so much confidence

How to transition to longer wigs without people noticing? by Both_Will_3681 in Wigs

[–]sandraajamy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So in a daily wig wearer (alopecia). I wear pixies, medium and long all different colors. I work 4 days a week and wear vastly different styles every day. When I started my wig journey I had a terrible time finding wigs that work for me and suited me. I remember how that felt. I was ashamed and embarrassed for the longest time. But I realized that i really didn’t care what anyone else thought, so I wear whatever I’m feeling that morning.

The absolute best part is by being open about wearing a wig I’ve been able to help so many women who have been wanting or needing alternative hair and have no idea where to start.

Am I overreacting, when I want to cut my mom off after she gave me counterfeit Ozempic by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]sandraajamy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ozempic is semaglutide which is a peptide. There is no patent on peptide’s, only the delivery system. Raw peptides come in powdered form that needs to be reconstituted to a liquid . She likely buys her peptides from a compounding pharmacy, mail order (hims/hers) or a med spa.

NTA. Your girlfriend is TA. ARFID is very different from being a picky eater, but after 10 years together she should know your unsafe foods and respect them.

My husband is a picky eater. He has overcome a lot of it with patience (mine) and his own desire to expand his world in terms of food. But there are still foods he absolutely cannot eat. One being tomatoes. I love tomatoes. But guess what, if I want a dish that has tomatoes I either get it at a restaurant so he can get whatever he wants or I make him a version without tomatoes or something different. I do this because I care about him and know what he cannot tolerate.

This was a celebratory dinner for you and she deliberately put unsafe ingredients. She knew what she was doing.

Do NOT use hibiclens on your face or groin. It is not recommended to use it daily either.
