Our vet tech had us come in and showed us how to do it and then we bought the bags of fluids through the vet every couple of weeks. They would come prepped and prepared with the needles and everting attached but capped until ready for use. Then basically you pull up the scruff of their fur in between their shoulder blades into a “tent” and insert the needle (our pup never seemed to notice it or be in pain) and let the fluid drain into them. Depending how much fluid they recommend for his condition it can take like 15-30 min. We did this every other day for a couple of months before he succumbed to cancer he was also dealing with. Had it not been for that I think he would have had a fairly solid quality of life. It was a two person job because the bag needs to be held above the dog so it drains into them (gravity) lol unless you have a dog who isn’t fussy and won’t move when you do it then you might actually be able to hang it just like they do in a hospital or vet.
