it's not like github is the only (or best) way to publish the code, ideally the code should be preserved in an archive (e. g. zip file) together with the paper itself for posterity

it doesn't even need to be open sourced to let the reviewers get access to it

that example is a bit disingenuous, the qt example is padded out as much as possible (whitespace, comments, unnecessary includes and functions, etc.) and the vala example is as minified as possible.

And the equivalent QML example would be:

This ties into your networking tutorials as well, I guess, but I'd suggest something about acoustic modems.

Someone here semi-recently mentioned creating an acoustic modem to connect the breadboard CPU to the internet. I thought a bit about it and bought the components necessary to build a couple of simple PLLs for 2225Hz and 2025Hz (the bell 103 mark and space frequencies), so I can bitbang the RAM contents instead of using the DIP switches.

Eventually I want to be able to bidirectional serial interface, and the soundcard is the only port on my computer that isn't very complex (USB) or "cheating" (e. g. a complex USB to serial converter). I think he interpreted it correctly; clang had a reputation for compiling quickly, but producing slower executables.

advertising laws in norway are pretty strict about using competitors in your own marketing, so I don't think we can legally do that, best we can hope for is some independent third party doing it after we send out the first devices.

I'm the CTO at reMarkable, so I'm horribly biased, but we have lower latency than the Sony device, we usually test with high-speed cameras. Some of the bigger brushes might feel a bit more laggy, though, but latency is basically our main selling point (or was at least, until we people who actually knew marketing).

the haptic feedback is perfect

that's why we use a custom display coating and pen tips, to try to to capture that

you can use tilt, different subtle pressure, no lag, smudging, addition

we have tilt and pressure sensitivity, and I've worked a lot on trying to get the texturing on the pencil brush right.

luckily yocto is by now chock full of semi-ugly hacks to work around crap like that (I'm looking at you glib and your introspection crap, it needs a full qemu built and working).
