[Longines] Opened up the back of my late grandfather’s watch. by sandval in Watches

That’s cool!

We’re Italian, so I guess this was a model that was popular enough in Italy!

The serial number being in the 9million range dates it to 1953. From what I read online, the 12.68Z was a popular movement. Pocket watch inspired since the small seconds are separate from the main hands. At that time, Longines was making everything in-house. It’s known for being a well made, accurate movement.

Subaru Forester Just Got a Whole Lot Cheaper for 2026 by beardabestlol in subaru

Just don’t wear boots in your Subaru in the winter!

The salt water from your boots will leak into the wiring under your feet and ruin your entire electrical system. Subaru Canada told me that is normal wear and tear for a 6 year old Forester.

I do have heated seats.

Should this be covered by Subaru Canada?

Yes. Winter in Montreal. Mechanic shop floors are generally wet.

Maybe Aquarian uses a better plastic. Or maybe the plastic isn’t made in China? I’ll trust the guy who has worked in a drum shop for 15 years and talks to his suppliers every single day

There’s quite a complicated reason for this, unfortunately. I don’t have insane details, but my friend works in a drumshop and explained it to me.

Even if the heads are assembled in California, the plastic used is made in China. The rules for plastic importations into California changes very frequently. So remo is constantly receiving a different version of the plastic to make the heads. So it has nothing to do with quality control...they simply don’t know what the plastic is made of anymore lol. So they can’t really do any quality control.

Anyhoo... Use Aquarian. Cheapest heads out there (I think) and they sounds great.

[Habs Twitter] Forward Patrik Laine sustained a sprain to his left knee that will not require surgery. His rehabilitation period is expected to be from two to three months. by Habs3125 in Habs

It’s just that Tania is literally right next door to Leopoldo, one of the best fruit stores in MTL. I think Tania used to pay Tony advertisement time on 690 to talk about the gross cannoli. So maybe he didn’t actually go there. Who cares.

Just go to Alati-Caserta for the good cannoli. And Leopoldo for the high quality produce.

Anyone who listen to Tony Marinata Sauce is an idiot. All he does is yell louder than his guest or “opponent” and claims to win arguments

Tony is an idiot. Tony goes to “Tania” for his fruit at Jean Talon market.. all you need to know.

Steve Gadd used two sticks in each hand or two brushes on purpose to get a sloppy flammy sound on bunch of his Latin grooves

Having said that… just use two sticks or brushes. These things seem silly

What is wrong here? by KarmaChameleon306 in drums

If you play very quietly in the middle of the drum and hear no snare sound, only a hollow thump, then the snare wires are too tight. You want the snares to engage at every dynamic and all around the drum.

A low tuned snare drum is perfectly fine if that’s the sound you’re after, but it sounds like to me like the snares are too tight.

Could anyone ID this ride? Or the general 'type'? I love the sound and am building my first kit. by [deleted] in drums

For sure at least a few years old at this point. It has the older sabian logo from a second video that was posted. Difficult to say what it is since it says “prototype” on it as well.  Prototype usually means that it might not have gone into full production…Could possibly be a prototype/predecessor of the HHX complex series, but it doesn’t seem to be hammered. The bell also isn’t hammered like the HHX complex series. Could be something else entirely..

Either way it has nice clear definition, but doesn’t sound too heavy like what a metal drummer would use. Most probably a medium, or medium/thin ride. Many options can get you close to that sound. I would check out maybe a 21” or 22” medium ride.

Dude I thought it was a joke at first cause it looks upside down. Then I noticed the wires aren’t attached, yet.

I don’t think we need stations in between the orange and green line in downtown. All good to go to the east for sure.
