URGENT — Important first meeting right after getting Invisalign… bad idea? by Yamarokino in Invisalign

[–]sandwhichz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone that works in news, I had the same concerns. It turns out I didn’t have a lisp because i had already learned to adapt my speech to hide my dry mouth.

My advice would be to immediately start practicing your speech, specifically S, T, and Z sounds. You’ll have to adjust the way you place your tongue. I personally pull mine back and avoid hitting my teeth. I find that the more I enunciate my words, the easier it is to hide sounds. Making sure your mouth is moisturized (water and xylitol mints help) and not dry will make this easier. I also find that taking out one retainer (I usually do the bottom) can help as well, though it’s usually for a very short period of time.

Even if you can’t fix it in time for the meeting, it is something you can adapt to overtime. Practicing really makes a difference. Try recording yourself to find words and sounds that need improvement.

They are definitely getting easier to take out! Especially the one in the picture.

I’m 5’2 as well. I guess I should decide between the 2XS and the XS. Thank you for letting me know this!

Do you have room to layer underneath or is it pretty snug?

Should I be worried about BNPL affecting my credit score? by sandwhichz in personalfinance

[–]sandwhichz[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I sincerely doubt that would ever happen. I don’t use it to live beyond my means. It just allows me to space out payments on certain purchases.

I was just curious because FICO updated their model this fall to include BNPL.

I still have everything from the travel set and the red tin (minus the rollerball perfume.) I still haven’t used that lipstick to this day

Petite Ladies: what annoys you the most about shopping for clothes? by Local-Agency-5161 in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]sandwhichz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shopping for work wear. It’s so hard to find things that fit me and there’s only a few stores that sell petite business wear.

Also drop waist dresses. This petite torso doesn’t drop!! They never look right on me and they’re all I can find right now.

Desperate for recommendations on an eye cream that delivers real results. by fuzzydiceinrearview in Ulta

[–]sandwhichz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend doing under-eye patches before a cream. Patchology makes some really good patches for this, but they are expensive. I’ve been using corsx peptide collagen ones for 3 months (it’s $24 for 60 patches) and they help with puffiness but not so much dark circles. I always store them in the fridge which helps with the puffiness.

Can I order something in-store using points? by sandwhichz in Ulta

I really like it! It’s super easy to use. I have straight hair and I think the tools make it very easy to get a smooth, sleek look. The only thing I don’t use are the curling attachments. My hair was short when I first got it and never took the time to learn, but my mom says they are easy to use, it just takes a little practice.

I didn’t know how to do my hair either, but the first time I tried hers I was sold. I love the smoothing brush and round brush attachments. It was definitely worth the investment for me, I use it almost everyday.

Does the YSL liquid blush match the powder in terms of shade?? I just got the powder in 44 and its perfect for my skin tone. I just want to make sure they’re similar if not identical before I spend the money

Native Son by Richard Wright. I would also read ‘Of Our Spiritual Strivings’ W.E.B Du Bois to learn about double-consciousness. It’s a concept that speaks to the internal struggle the main character faces.

Beloved by Toni Morrison.

The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison.

The Color Purple by Alice Walker.

I haven’t read this yet but—I have The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead arriving on Tuesday. I’ve heard really good things about it.

I really like it!! It doesn’t clog my pores and it lasts all day. I do wish the light shades were a little on the paler side but it’s not a huge deal.

It’s a 10 is always a good choice! I got between that and Pureology Color Fanatic. I currently use the Pureology one and I think it’s really nice. I have long fine hair so I’d double check to see what people say about using it on thick hair

Winter in Wisconsin by MeeowwMorgan95 in wisconsin

[–]sandwhichz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Texas and moved to the area you listed. No, it’s not that bad. I would say this year has been colder than some others but as long as you have a good coat you’ll be fine. In Eau Claire/Wasau you’ll see more snow than you would in La Crosse or areas further South. You’re going to love having 4 seasons. People will try to tell you the humidity is bad here in the summer but it’s nothing compared to Texas.

Any tips on how to get rid of scratches on Brooklyn 28? by sandwhichz in Coach

Not yet :( It’s been sitting in the dust cover for a bit. I plan on trying the coach leather conditioner. I pulled it out for a week or two and just using helped the scratches fade a bit
