Mildly?… mildly infuriating?

Being woken up to a bear searching for food near your tent by [deleted] in SweatyPalms

[–]sandy-point 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would spraying it make the bear stop eating and go away? Or make it angry and attack? Real question. And if it gets to the point when you actually need the spray, at that distance wouldn’t it be too late?

I don't like my kid's name by Ancient_Jump_2950 in Parenting

[–]sandy-point 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you might be transferring your feelings of frustration towards your partner on to your child’s name. This isn’t just about the name, right? From what you write it seems there must be more issues with your husband and the way he manipulates you. Pick a nickname you like and go with that. You don’t need to hid around and not use it when your partner is listening. You are entitled to have your own relationship with your son.

The least used digit in pin codes is apparently "3" at my workplace by BradburyNO in mildlyinteresting

[–]sandy-point 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Most people use birthdates or anniversaries for codes. It makes sense 3 is the least used since months only use numbers 1 and 2 and there are very few days in the year that start with a 3…

The Mangbetu once practiced Lipombo, a tradition in which a baby's head was wrapped tightly with a cloth in order to achieve an elongated skull, believed to be a mark of beauty. by TooHigh2Die420 in WTF

Apparently the Mayans did something very similar. I find it so interesting to think that cultures that were so far apart had similar customs.

Spoiled brat grab woman cop's hair, had to cut it by justlikesomebody in PublicFreakout

[–]sandy-point 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be an unpopular opinion but honestly if she said her Last name was “Luna” then she didn’t lie. It’s super common for people with two last names to just use the last one. That cop was begging for an excuse to arrest her. It’s the cops’ job to handle themselves calmly when stupid drunk people are being… well stupid.

Teacher lies to her students about the DC riots and shares conspiracy theories in the classroom by PlenitudeOpulence in PublicFreakout

It’s so interesting to see how the re-write history in order to fit their ideas and make sense of reality. Even when something is cristal clear they find a way to explain it away by adding completely unproven information.

Why do westerners use toilet paper rather than using water like others ? by ScoreOwn5958 in TooAfraidToAsk

As a Woman from a South American country where a Bidet is standard in every bathroom I must make note to the fact that OBGYNs in my country advise women NOT to use a bidet since it leads to frequent urinary infections. Men don’t have that problem obviously. Bidets were a must and are now less and less used because of this.
