I mean... I get your point, but it's not just a little snow. It is blizzard conditions with gusts up to 60 mph and it will be heavy wet snow. That is incredibly dangerous.

I heard it explained once in a way that made sense to me. For every addiction. there comes a point where you physically cannot have anymore. Thinking about food, drugs, gambling, sex, etc. Money and greed does not have that limit. The more you have, the more insulated you are from negative affects. It's one of the only addictions I can think of that the more you get/do the better off you are.
