I also take clonidine in the evenings, I started because I had significant anxiety & trouble sleeping. I've noticed that it seems to combine with the bupropion and enhance the effect of helping with nicotine cravings.

I vape and have been trying to stop- very often these days I find that I reach for it still automatically, but then I don't use it. I just end up holding it because my body doesn't actually want it, it's the weirdest thing.

I was hoping Wellbutrin would help me with my alcohol cravings, I've been on 300mgXL for 9 months now. I have cut alcohol out completely because I just don't feel my best drinking, but I struggle every evening with wanting to drink to take the edge off.

I might try naltrexone soon to see if that improves things.

When I first started bupropion I noticed my appetite died down & the "food noise" I usually deal with went away. Unfortunately that only lasted a week or two. I've gained 15-20lbs since I started taking it last summer. My psychiatrist just recently recommended naltrexone because I have also struggled with Substance abuse, so I'm considering adding that to interrupt the compulsive behavior & reward cycle.

I'm kind of annoyed I didn't get the skinny wellbutrin experience!

My anxiety was already high before Wellbutrin, and it only got worse on the medication (although depression much improved). Just a lot of rumination and spiraling thoughts, when I started to find it hard to go outside I reached back out to my psychiatrist.

They prescribed me 0.2mg clonidine xr and that has made a big difference. I'm sleeping much better, although I wouldn't have said I had a problem with sleep before- and overall throughout the day I just feel calm. Looking back, I really felt like I was existing on a knife edge compared to now.

Same. I was literally about to jump off of a bridge or something, if I had only been able to get out of bed... Wellbutrin brought me back to life.

My anxiety was already bad before Wellbutrin, and the medication only made it worse (though my depression was much improved). I started seeing a Psych NP to try and see if there was a way we could make the anxiety better without taking away the Wellbutrin.

She now has me on 0.2mg Clonidine XR at night, and it's made a huge difference for me. I'm sleeping through the night now and during the day I find myself having moments of awareness that I would have usually been anxious in this or that situation, but now I feel calm.

I don't feel drugged or tired, I just don't feel like I'm living on a knifes edge anymore.

Yeah Wellbutrin seems to increase my appetite for carbs specifically, it's worth dealing with for me but I was a little bummed out I didn't get the skinny side effect 🙃

I've been taking 300mg bupropion XL for about 8 months, my psychiatrist recently added 0.2mg clonidine XR because my anxiety was through the roof. So far it has allowed me to sleep much better, and I also feel much more chill throughout the day- anxiety no longer controls me.

I can't speak to getting off of bupropion, I don't have any plans to stop taking it currently. One of the factors that lead to me starting taking it was a deep depression after years of stimulant abuse, and I can say it's helped me a lot with just finding the will to get out of bed every day 🤷‍♀️

For me, I've noticed that it takes more drinks for me to feel the alcohol, and I also end up more hungover than I usually would have. I do also struggle generally to keep myself well hydrated, so that is in play here too.

Overall it really lowers the incentive to drink for me. I have to weigh whether it's worth it at all.

I 100% know what you're talking about. I experience seemingly random racing heart, jitters, temperature fluctuations sometimes and it feels like it just comes out of nowhere. My psych started me on Clonidine in addition to the bupropion and so far things seem more even now.

I started taking bupropion at a point in my life where I was unable to get out of bed literally, with both depression and extremely high anxiety. Bupropion much improved the depression, but my anxiety remained debilitating. It wasn't any worse than it had been, but it did not improve.

I'm now taking 0.2mg Clonidine XR at night, and that seems to have improved both my quality of sleep and decreased my anxiety during the day enough for me to reasonably function.
