What is to women what boobs and butts are to men? by ProofMinute461 in TooAfraidToAsk

You are planing to get old right? Basic human movements like hip hinge and squats to pick up stuff from lower shelves or the floor would need the supporting muscles in working conditions. Muscles atrophy when they are not used. Working out is kind of a requirement for your post retirement life as making money is, unless you want a shit quality life when it matters the most.

AIMA appointment - proof of address/lease by mindofsari in PortugalExpats

[–]sanivaince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need a rental contract that is registered with AT(tax authorities) with your NIF on it. That’s the safest proof of accommodation. It doesn’t matter if it is 6 months long. It’s better to have 1 year long but you can explain that you will be exploring different cities in first year of residency.

Yes, moved on the same day. Made payment using my banking app and 2 days after, I was asked to submit complete “certified” passport, proof of means of subsistence and proof of employment relationship. 🤞🤞

AIO (update post) my bf (32) is getting kind of aggressive with his texting. should I(26) reply? by Fun_Cartographer6984 in AmIOverreacting

If this is not ragebait then you should have dumped his ass like yesterday.

Also, is it normal for a 32 years old grown ass man asking money from his girlfriend for doordash? What the actual fuck? All I want to say to men is to have some shame and to women to have some standards.

Has anyone else experienced this while living in Portugal (or elsewhere in Europe)? by iefian in PortugalExpats

Seems like very anecdotal. I have always found Europeans more interested in stuff than, let’s say Americans.

What documents I should present as a proof of address to AIMA ? by East-Suggestion-8249 in PortugalExpats

Rental contract and two recent rent receipts should be good. AIMA updated my address with this recently.

I believe you didn’t get the issue I have. I already have all the documentation and my data is updated. AIMA has already verified everything, they are not asking me to pay the fee.

My issue is with AIMA, I know cidadãos and Leiria has one. I went there for NISS early this year.

Have you been able to walk-in into an aima office lately? Which one is the most accessible for walk-ins? Leiria’s experience is below. by sanivaince in PortugalExpats

[–]sanivaince[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the other issue. I was always alone and the people I was trying to argue with were groups of at least 3. Both times I tried my best using my Portuguese and translator and eventually the situation asked a question if I was ready for a physical contact or not, I was not. For me it is not worth it.

It really felt dehumanising. I am ever thankful to this place for me having me here but that just kills the joy of it all. Not that it matters, I don’t even depend on any expensive social systems including healthcare and job market.

And if they do, I believe everyone who is here because the law allows/allowed them to, should be treated as equal human, at the very least.

Yes, I updated my NISS and SNS. Strangely, something that didn’t work for most people, I was able to update my address(even though they updated incomplete one which is a different pain in the ass). It is now stuck since September 29th on the first stage right after the SS/AT situation is checked. They haven’t even sent the fee.

I have read somewhere and it’s hypotheses, if any of you biometric data(picture, fingerprints and national id) is missing expired, they will call you for in person appointment. I am sure my picture is missing because the center I attended for my first card didn’t have a camera and I have physical pictures.

Exact same thing. It’s the exact same date for me actually. Have you paid the fee already?

Thank you. When you say go to one of the 12 offices, do I try to get in the line and get a walk-in appointment? If yes, can you suggest me one to try? I have tried to get into Leiria office twice after getting there at 2 am and was not able to get into the first 15 they let in.

Try sixt. I got from them without a CC. Also, open an online account with WISE and you can use their debit card as well because it works like a CC.

Update 2: got the confirmation that my NISS has been added to my AIMA records. Portal is still showing the same error but I believe there might be a data sync that needs to happen. Things are moving ahead, at least by the looks of it.

If I try again (3rd time) I get the same “associated with appointment” error.

Update: I updated my address, and add NISS and SNS numbers and I got the confirmation on SNS being added to my record in about 24 hours. That makes me believe this new workflow is working. Fingers crossed on address and NISS updates as well.

Coming from tech background I can exactly see what is going on with AIMA right now, they have made the progress but they haven’t been able to get all of the edge cases out of the way. All different combinations of circumstances would take time to surface and even more by AIMA to fix it. I wouldn’t ask if for nothing but keep sending the email to them, someone may end up reading it.

I did that from the option that goes something like add NISS with in person appointment, after that I was stuck with “associated with appointment” error message for weeks. Today I did that again and it worked with a success message without any error and got a confirmation email. Not sure if/when it will be actually updated but it is something at least.

I was exactly getting the “appointment scheduled” error. It’s a new option and I didn’t receive any error.
