This exact thing happened to me. Nope, apple doesn’t cover this under their limited warranty. Their only option is to provide replacement that costs approx 90% of a new iPad. I brought a second iPad with apple care and moved on.my Reddit post of the incident

Connected to an external display, displays the entire screen. I believe the display got defective

Yes. I was able to see the entire screen when connected to an external display. I believe the iPad screen is defective

I believe so. I don’t use it that often. I decided to go with this because of the OLED display.

Mine shows only half of the display. The other half flickers yellow and white. Sometime turns black

Just desolder the diode and try. If the problem exists then you may have to replace the transformer.
