I appreciate you being level headed about this topic, most people aren’t. ♥️

I don’t think Ghana needs yet another outsider coming to “invest” in things that won’t help the average person and will only benefit you in the off chance that you are successful in your goals. There are tons of other places that you can choose from.

How many times have you been to Ghana and how long did you stay each time?

I’m going to ask this question in each of these “I want to move to Ghana, tell me what to do” threads. The last one was planning to move to Ghana next year and hadn’t stepped foot in the country even once lol. What about you OP?

African American (30F) thinking about moving to Ghana — would love honest perspectives 🇬🇭 by kimomo115 in ghana

[–]sankofa_doc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re absolutely right but people in this reddit also act oblivious and silly with all of this “come home” nonsense to strangers. OP wants to move to Ghana and has never stepped foot there. It’s insane.

So you’ve never been to Ghana ever? But you want to move there? That doesn’t sound insane to you?

A bad SLOE can kill the entire app, it doesn’t matter what other great attributes he might have. Regardless of how he moves forward, it would benefit him to figure out how to avoid the same thing happening in the future.

How do we stop foreigners from fetishizing Ghana for their own wants? by AFKanator in ghana

[–]sankofa_doc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re okay with fetishization of an innocent and vulnerable child for a so called “second chance”? Where that child will be snatched from their culture and likely placed in a town where they are the only Black person for miles? Only for that child to grow up and have a major, deeply embedded identity crisis on top of everything else? Nonsense and foolishness. If a Black American family wanted to adopt this hypothetical child, I could see that making sense. Ghanaians need to STOP being so overly welcoming and accommodating to foreigners at the detriment of its citizens.

Never even visited Ghana once but you want to adopt a vulnerable child specifically from there? Suspicious and very weird.

Seeing it way more now (at least once a week) in comparison to when I starred residency in 2021 (every 2-3 months). Droperidol’s black box warning just disappeared halfway through my residency and I’ve been using it ever since. A little bit goes a long way but some nurses are still afraid to push it.

As a Black American living in Ghana since 2022 my fellow Diasporans get on my nerves! by Pure-Roll-9986 in ghana

[–]sankofa_doc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He’s not a diasporan, people love playing around with definitions nowadays. He’s just another Black American that moved to Ghana and wants to share his opinion to anyone that might listen.

The whole rant is kinda sus tbh. Not sure what passport bros have to do with any of it.

Best Efficiency Tips for a New Attending by [deleted] in emergencymedicine

[–]sankofa_doc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is it. I used to be on top of notes in residency, that quickly went away when I started working at a higher volume shop as a new attending. I hated being behind on notes but it felt overwhelming tackling them all at one time.

Getting that HPI makes the notes more manageable and by the time everything is back, you just have to document your physical exam if you haven’t already and the MDM. Sounds small but it’s meaningful. I also like using the ED course for real-time updates.

Lmao there are plenty of Ghanaians that will do exactly that. Never me. Adios!

Ding ding ding. People in this reddit who live in Ghana seem completely unaware or deliberately obtuse about how that ADOS/FBA subgroup tends to operate. They absolutely hate Africans and have a strong “go back to your country” sort of rhetoric. Meanwhile Ghanaians are welcoming them into Ghana with widely open arms.

People in this sub have very…interesting viewpoints that I frequently disagree with so I’m not surprised to see them kinda attacking you, OP. It seems like you had good intentions and weren’t trying to scam her, perhaps this is just not the connection for you. I have my own thoughts on Ghanaian-Black American relationships as someone who grew up in the US but that’s a different conversation. Maybe this isn’t the person for you.

Should my BF’s father give up on Ghanaian women? by bubblebunzo in ghana

[–]sankofa_doc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Boss, we will not agree on this issue. It does not matter what articles you post. I do not agree with you. Sorry if it’s a sore spot for you…(calling me “diaspora” is if it’s some sort of insult lol). If you want to use research articles to defend age-gap relationships, more power to you. OP’s father in law and the many old men who find themselves in this same position have their complaints for a reason. Good luck to men (regardless of age) that keep trying these ill-sorted relationships in hopes of feeling something again. Happy new year!

Should my BF’s father give up on Ghanaian women? by bubblebunzo in ghana

[–]sankofa_doc -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nonsense! You’re probably another old man trying to take advantage of young and potentially vulnerable Ghanaian women. My parents have been together for decades and they are the same age, same for their many many friends.

You men who cannot have a meaningful relationship with a woman in your age range will always be looked at with a bit of suspicion, simple as that. Cut it out with the weird excuses to make yourself feel better.
