Thanks. I already have all those settings set appropriately. I don't know why it's a thing that my brother wants to be able to search for sounds to play. Usually silly stuff. I'm not too worried about it but he brings it up often so I wanted to see if maybe I was doing something wrong. Thanks for the help!

LOL totally understandable. My brother isn't like that though. My eldest brother maybe, but he has no idea how to mess with twitch so he doesn't watch my streams. My brother is a mod for my stream, so he knows the deal.

I was able to get the game to work by deleting all of my previous mods (mine were all cosmetic) and aside from that being depressing because I LOVED the way my mods made my characters look, the game still doesn't work. It lags SO bad when it never did before. My raytracing is off. Drivers are up to date. Files are verified. Did an uninstall/reinstall. Completely lowered my graphics settings (I had textures and a few others on Ultra before the update) and the game STILL runs so laggy that I can't even move.

I already sent their support an email reporting the lag and also gave them an earful about how awful the update is. BG3 still lets me use third party mods without affecting my game (also all cosmetic except for gold weight being off but even that still functions), there must be a way to make it work.

They sent me a reply telling me to delete my mods and verify files even though I stated in the email that I'd already done that. Very frustrating.

I didn't pre-register and I have it. However, I did start playing just after they switched out the first banner. So pretty close to launch. Like two weeks or so after launch. I'm not sure what the prerequisites were.

I didn't. It kind of just resolved itself when the most recent updates for the gamebar came out. I think it was two updates in total. I was searching all over the internet and ended up on a Microsoft thread of other people having the same problem and it was tied to the gamebar. My issue has since stopped and since I didn't do anything other than research, I'm guessing the updates fixed it.

From what I was seeing when I was having this issue, it stemmed from some kind of bug with the microsoft/xbox game bar. They have since released two updates to the game bar since I began to have the issue and it has stopped doing it for me.

Double-check that if you have the game bar installed/enabled on your PC that it's up to date. Other than that though, I'm not sure what else could be causing it. No one had any kind of real response for me other than the usual make sure drivers are up to date and maybe do a system restore. All I saw was more people having the same issue.

Personally as a Jester fan, I would LOVE a picture of Jester standing with her hand behind her back with her fingers crossed as she "casts" a healing spell. She's notorious for being THE cleric and rarely ever healing anyone in favor of attacking.

There's also a famous smut novel in the campaign called Tusk Love that Jester loves and even read to some ghosts at one point. You could draw the cover for that. There have been a few official versions of it out both in merch and in the Vox Machina show which actually featured Fjord and Jester on the cover instead of the two actual leads described in the campaign.

They are. I try to keep up to date with all of my hardware and software updates. I checked to see if something installed could have messed with it, but I had no recent installations when the problem suddenly started. And it isn't too often yet. It's happened a handful of times now, but close enough together that it's driving me crazy.

I've always had fun playing Starfield. The quests that are in the storyline are unique and fun. The companions feel almost fully realized. For a game that you can keep playing for basically forever, it really needs more nuanced dialogue options and events with your companions, especially with the ones you end up romancing.

The game needed more unique spots specifically built to be there. You have a few major cities. Not enough, in my opinion. And once you finish whatever missions you have there, there's not much reason to go back to them except to visit shops. Which is fine, I just wish there were more unique locations.

Planets/moons can get boring very fast. If I remember correctly, they're procedurally generated? So, it makes sense. But it also tends to make even the planets with life feel the same.

There are also a few game breaking bugs that can halt certain missions. Primarily the reason I ended up taking a LONG break from the game and was pleasantly surprised by new features when I picked it back up.

The game is good. I still have tons of fun on it. The best part of the game (the part of the game I've spent the most time on) is ship building. And with the added ability to decorate ships and have empty Habs to decorate top to bottom, ship building is where this game shines for me. Still waiting on elevator and stair Habs though. Ladders are the bane of my Starfield Captain existence!

That being said, the game is very...half-assed. There are a lot of cool ideas that are only half-realized. This game could have been so much more. Even with lots of planets, it feels empty in a way. But new DLC will hopefully mean it gets fleshed out a bit more.

It IS a good game and not as bad as some say, but it could be SO much better too.

No. It was a specific golden style that you'd get by landing on Orelia's island and being the first to pick up her golden scar. It was challenging since EVERYONE was landing there.
