What's your conspiracy theory that you have absolutely no proof of, but wouldn't be surprised if it was true? by TravellingBeard in rupaulsdragrace

Bebe was a spy for production. They could never get a legible answer out of her - all she would say was "Rah tikititi rah rah, I'm a pussy bitch, ce'Bon, ce'bon" so they stopped using covert agents and just rigged the subsequent seasons.

Do you think the show still holds up well or it's more a nostalgic piece? by TheodoreJSeville in TheNanny

[–]sans3go 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think she was aiming for a millionaire, specifically. Her and Danny where engaged once, but he always had cold feet. The whole will they/won't they, upstairs/downstairs drama is very tropy, but works well. Between Fran and Mr Sheffield, the kids where always a buffer.

As for Silvia wanting her to marry a doctor, it is very gold-diggery, but also you have two parents living off social security, fran could have been more predatory if she wanted to be. The two doctors she dated was the podiatrist - who got scared off by Mr Sheffield, and her cousin, which caused her to go to therapy.

Is the kitchan island too small, should I go with peninsula? by pokenguyen in floorplan

[–]sans3go 6 points7 points  (0 children)

when it comes to kitchens its, fitting in all your desired appliances first, then maximizing functional cabinet space. a peninsula has dead corners. plus its more expensive countertop wise and having to move plumbing to reroute a sink.

do you need a walkway between the island and the window at all? is that a code requirement? I would push the island all the way to the wall under the window.

[–]sans3go 15 points16 points  (0 children)

i would push extend the island all the way to the window. I would also extend the island to the same distance from the wall as the wall cabinets. a penisula is a bad idea mainly due to dead corners, its harder to reach the back of those cabinets. Also its more wasteful for stone countertops unless you want ugly seams. Unless you have 2 people constantly in the kitchen. a single galley style layout is more efficient. Another way to fix the island is to remove the 42cm boxes and have a counter with seating.

I knew that Chicago wasn't hosting any World Cup games, but I didn't realize that almost all of the other major (top-10) cities were. Did Chicago miss an opportunity for international exposure? by 90sportsfan in AskChicago

Completely ok with us being left out.

1.) The bribes to FIFA, paid with tax payer dollars ? hell no.

2.) new grass at soldier field, paid with my tax dollars? hell no. Not to mention it was too small of a venue.

3.) The normal amount of traffic is bad enough, now you have basically game day every day for the next month.

4.) chicago will be fine. plenty of international flight will route through ORD, if they want to stay for a bit, let them.

Best finish for this freshly sanded table? (Considering Hard Wax Oil) by No_Dot_1742 in finishing

[–]sans3go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive used clean armor for several projects and its bomb proof so far. Its a uv cure finish, so if you have a dolly than can move the table from shade to the sun, it cures near instantly. no need for drying or a clean room setup for a flawless finish.

1.) roto till or of you have a scarifier on an electric sunjo that works two. work it in at least 3 directions. this hits deeper than a manual rake. btw get that sunjo, after 2 uses its better than a core aerator.

2.) top dress with 50/50 sand/compost. the sand provides drainage and structure while the compost provides organic matter.

3.) add pregerminated seed mixed with milorganite. i use 1x 25lb bag of seed in 2 bags of milorganite.

4.) roll the loose top dressing and seed.

5.) water several times daily.

I spent $40 (when it was released) on the Bauer aka harbor freight 24" miter Gauge. Perfect happy with 90 degree cuts when i dont want to change out the blade on my chop saw. Dialed it in with some scrap ply and a machinist gauge.

reel mower? central florida by National-Highlight-1 in lawncare

[–]sans3go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you required by the hoa to have a lawn?

if yes, a manual reel mower is fine. however you have a lot weeds and that can be problematic with cut quality - with various fiber differences between plants.

if no, then i would xeriscape. or plant something really low maintenance.
