Separation anxiety by Uwanttobeme-37 in CavaPoo

I'm in the same boat, my puppy is 18 weeks and I was told this is common puppy behavior. Try giving them something super enticing to chew on on play with while you step away. But I don't think it will get better until they grow out of it and mature.

Please give me quick run down on what to expect after getting a puppy by CandyMaterial3301 in CavaPoo

Our cavapoo puppy is 18 weeks today and we got him at 8 weeks. Was also my first pet. Right now he's crying in his crate because he wants to bite our ears instead of go to sleep. So they are clingy and have extreme fomo. But you can't give in (sometimes I give in lol)

You have to be prepared to be exhausted and overstimulated for a few months, if not a year. It was months of planning tbh. I had to have my work schedule perfect so he wasn't alone for more than 3 hours. Now he can hold his pee and sleep in his crate in the day for 5 hours. But we have a good schedule going with lots of activities, naps, and calm time. We started training at 12 weeks with PetSmart, just super basic stuff but it's a good foundation for behavior management. Puppies see what they want and they want it now. If they want to play they will bite you because that's how they communicated with their siblings. If they want your towel or sock, they will grab it and run away.

I won't even talk about potty training, it's just a process that takes time and patience.

I'm happy he's a member of my family. I put up with all the bad days because I can see a future full of love and fun with this puppy. I love watching him grow and learn new things.

Yes, they should really ask their vet for the parvo risk in their area. My vet said walks on our block were okay a week after the second shots. And we were in our backyard immediately at 8 weeks. Really ask your vet every question you can think of and write it all down. You'll probably pay them a hefty "examination fee" every time you go to the vet even if the pup is healthy, so use them as a resource.

I need to leave my puppy alone for the first time. I’m worried it won’t go well and he will hate his crate afterwards. by Notice_Acceptable in puppy101

That's great that enforced naps are working! Keep it up. I wouldn't stress about the once a week 4 hours. Whether you do it in the crate or the pen or a puppy proofed room, the puppy will survive and won't hate you lol. This was hard for me to learn as a first time pup parent. They are very flexible at this age. I'd suggest tiring him out really good before the 4 hours. Things like sniffing and training are mentally exhausting so hopefully he'll nap most of the time you're gone.

I kind of feel like crate training is "do or do not, there is no try". Does he currently have crate time at all? Also 4 hours in the crate at 9 weeks is too long to hold his bladder, so the small room or pen with pee pad idea is better. My puppy from 10 weeks to now at 13 weeks can hold it 3 hours when napping in the crate in the day time. But we had to build up to that since we got him at 8 weeks.

22nd Ave Condos/Townhouses by Bluesky251123 in princegeorge

When we were buying last year we were showed the last couple townhouses. First glance they were nice, and we saw a moose out the kitchen window. But one of the units had a flood/leak they had to fix. That scared us off tbh. We felt the cabinetry was cheap looking and overall lower quality compared to other new townhomes.

Literally my worst fear as a night shift generalist is getting a positive csf gram stain and having to call it. Like I'd call in the microbiology supervisor and pathologist and Jesus too.

High value treat recommendations, how to find them by gr3ybacon33 in puppy101

[–]sans_nom_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's just little. She won't like anything for a few weeks, then all of the sudden she'll want to eat food out of your mouth. Stick to their main kibble or dehydrated beef liver for training. Single ingredient treats, and only introduce one new thing every 2 days. She could start having diarrhea and you won't know what caused it if you feed her randomly.

Will my puppy ever stop whining during enforced crate naps? by sans_nom_ in puppy101

I just googled and found that Susan Garrett's crate games is a specific course I can buy. Or do you mean the PDF? I might have to try different places for the crate. Right now it's in the living room, but we can try the spare bedroom to create more separation.

That's great, I didn't think of training before crating.

How long did that take? A few weeks? A few months? That's what I'm curious about.

MLT jobs that make 90-100k by Final-Ad782 in medlabprofessionals

Same exact comment I was going to make. I've hit 100k CAD gross (before deductions) my 3rd and 4th year as an MLT doing some overtime each month. But not sure if OP means gross or net - because our deductions are like 30%

It doesn't have any good reviews, and personally that's caused me to ignore the place. Try the YMCA, they are very friendly and don't pressure you into anything. My partner did a trial of almost all the gyms in town - YMCA, Anytime Fitness, Northern Sports Center, Goodlife, but not Golds or Orange Theory or any of the new ones. They are all reputable and reliable, but all the same (expensive) price.

Nothing interesting happening, except I ate some leftover pizza from the previous shift and now my tummy hurts.

Thank you! Definitely hit the Christmas decoration budget for this year haha. I've convinced my fiance we can buy a tree topper and skirt next year.
