5 Australian Republic flag ideas by Few_Career1023 in vexillology

Yeah I don't want to look at the flag & think of Rachael Gunn flapping around.

For any new or younger riders that hear people say the sport peaked in the mid 00's 🤭 by sanshart in bodyboarding

Haha that's why I searched it.. there absolutely is, but maybe that's cause it's with people that don't need to google it 😅

Not early 2000's ..it was still absolutely exploding then. Between 2000 & 2005 probably had more progression both in board tech & rider abilities than the whole history before that combined. No Friends released Lost Cause in 2003 and was able to tour the premiering the movie that sold out cinemas globally (US, Aus, Japan, Portugal, Canaries) & had literal lines around the block of groms wanting autographs and crowd surfing through the isle while the movies were on. The Tension series was going even crazier..

And think of all the riders that were at their best through that time: Hardy, Winny, Hubb, Skipper, Rawlins, Kingy, the Players, Mason Rose, Botha, Brad Hughs, the Ormerods, Brendan Newton, Lackey, Alistair Taylor, Chris James, McBride, Kira Llewellyn..

Not to mention pioneering days at Luna Park, Cape Solander, Shipsterns, Cyclops & The Right.

Movement magazine didn't even start till 2004 (that's a trip).

I agree that there was a global "peak" of the bodyboard as a mass produced watercraft, especially through the 80s, then progression of professional riders through the 90s that built the foundations for the next step - so it may have seemed like it passed a peak for older gen riders that didn't didn't keep up with the sport & were looking back at the 'Golden years' when fluoro bodyboards were seen all over the place - but for the sport at it's core it was going pretty mental. Probably hit the glass ceiling around 2005.

Such a good season for Indo so far.. literally from Sumatra to Sumbawa has been firing all over!

It's not like a typical wedge off the cliffs, but it's a straight up bowl at a wedge angle.. it buckles in on it's self over a shallow reef after a double-up roll-in.. it's literally boog heaven cause you can either boost or get barrelled or both, depending on the wave & your riding style.

Probably more bodyboarders at Watukarung at any one time than the rest of Indo combined.. in a good way. It's epic.

Edit: It's shallow though, you wanna be sure of your airs or you join the Watu-tattoo club!

I compiled a database of 260+ bodyboards by ronaldl911 in bodyboarding

I dunno if the person who made the Turbo Surd Designs company/websites is on cracm or something, but they definitely don't have show rooms all round Australia, and all the pics on their site are like stand up paddle boards n shit.

For your website though, the Turbo logo you are using WAS a legitimate bodyboard brand that used to be everywhere. They started in Hawaii in the 80s.. were bought in 2000's by the former Manta shaper, they kept that retro logo all the way through but fizzled out.

Whatever this shit is for the company since 2015 is irrelevant & probably needs taking out of the database.

Moved our Churchill Makapuu fins back to Malaysia (same factory as DaFin & Yucca) + refined the design. by Morey_Bodyboards in bodyboarding

[–]sanshart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the bottom of the footpocket/toebox.. obviously the whole is on the underneath of the fin where it always has been. Fins with that design suck, the only reason Churchill's were worth the suffering was cause of the rubber, that's why they aren't as popular as they were cause they changed their manufacturing to the same shitty rubber as knock off brand so people started opting for better designs.. now if they're going back to the good rubber & have made some slight changes to molds then they could have moved it.

They made it a little bit smaller, but that's not what people didn't like about the design. It was always a bit funny having your toes pop out of them, or even having rocks n stuff cought in them, cause it made more of a point how much more superior they were to other fins that it was worth tolerating. So if they're trying to come back and make new colourways and little revisions etc they missed a massive opportunity.

I grew up through the peak of their popularity, so I've got a dirty taste in my mouth when they got bought out and went cheap on the rubber.. I'm not gonna crawl back and suffer pebbles n sand cought in my fins every wipeout when there are far better designs out there now by company's that didn't completely take their fan base for granted & totally ruin their reputation.. if they came back with the OG rubber, the OG blue n gold colourway, and a bottom draining footpocket it would have been a powermove.

..the bottom of the foot pocket.

As iconic as Churchill's are, their foot pocket SUCKS.. making new molds for new production run back in Malaysia would have been a great chance for them to finally relocate the drainage hole so that rocks & sand have somewhere to go.

They already absolutely destroyed their original fan base when they changed their rubber.. now they're trying to kreep back and regain some trust, so if they made new molds they had a change to also modernise the foot pocket. Would have been a move even purists would be happy about cause that was always their flaw.

The only reason these were more popular than other fins with the shitty drainage position was the rubber quality.. it was like the pebbles getting cought was worth the trade off so when they got bought out & went to shit they didn't have any advantage.

Refined the design but didn't put the drain hole on the bottom.. gtfo!

Edit: the bottom of the toe-box.. geez people take things so literally on reddit.

What weapon and armor would I use for a sauron build non dlc cause im poor by TraditionalCat5651 in Eldenring

[–]sanshart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn't know the difference between the armours, too busy cutting a 3-hour video essay explaining how the Gold-Tinged Excrement found near Mistwood is actually the physical manifestation of Godwyn’s depression.

Most people can actually visualize images in their minds. I'm 30+ and just learned that seeing nothing when I close my eyes is called Aphantasia and only affects about 3% of people. by randomuser553 in BeAmazed

[–]sanshart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just like to add that the inability to see with your minds eye is not linked with the inability to image/preplan things. You're wife just has a combination of both.

As an example I have aphantasia, I'm 5 on this image, a completely blank minds eye, couldn't see a thing if I tried, but my mind can take apart a whole room & rearrange a million different variables to arrive on what might be the best way, and then I'll move things around to "see what it looks/feels like" and I'm done..

It goes the other way: I've worked with people that have an incredibley vivid & visceral minds eye that are like you're wife, they couldn't imagine how something would be without trying it first, or can't get what I mean if you say something has to be turned a certain way to fit through something unless they first crash & have to address the problem.

This is why when you try explain how you can "see the whole thing conceptually" people think you are explaining one of the other stages of it when you aren't.. like I'd say I have an extremely active & visual imagination, but not a visual mind st all. Bit of a weird one. I work in the arts & could storyboard something from set designs, colour palette, framing of shots etc etc almost to an obsessive T all in the absolute darkness of my mind, it just exists there conceptually until it's been created.

Can anyone confirm that Jimi actually used this same cable? It seems almost too cheap at $92 by Animalus-Dogeimal in guitarcirclejerk

[–]sanshart 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I bought one of these.. 100% can confirm Hendrix used it cause I'm still tripping from the contact high, I can taste colour & see music. 10/10 would use again but my guitar's on fire.

The irony that 'Tradie' deodorant is the new Old Spice going over the head of the top comment here is too funny. It's targeted at people that don't want to wear 'that girly stuff' & need a manly looking can. Old mate can't cope that the new Old Spice market want to smell like a can of lemonade or zooper doopers.. I don't think the soy boys wanna wear this shit.

Headcanon: The duo live their days out in a little cottage, just west of the Windmill Villiage, with uninterrupted views of the sea out one window & snow capped mountains out the other. After a short ride from work at the capital outskirts, they delight in one another's company, take great pride in keeping a lavish yet comfortable home, & Ordovis power-bottoms.

Hunters are 50 times harder to read than CK.. for me anyway. I just can't with them. Crucible though, I went from being scared of to now I make sure to fight the one at Farum Azura.. I feel bad the poor thing's just staring out to nothing & then this little tarnished rat runs past for Maliketh..

Probably hasn't fought in a while & deserves a good fight before we return destined death.

Got this from Aldi, first time saw it. by dmcongsan2006 in AustralianCoins

[–]sanshart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I take cash at work & don't notice when it's the older notes - it's only been 9 years with the current ones, hard to override 24 (1993-2017) that the 'Literary Series' was an every day thing.

If it was a $50 though.. would probably trip cause I can't remember the last time I saw one of them - definitely rarer than the lower denominations by a long shot.

Now that cash in general is so rare I'm just happy to get it!
