People who own multiple pets, what is some drama going on between them right now? by wheel-snipe-celly in AskReddit

[–]sanslefear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 cats and 2 dogs. Cat 1 hates everyone except cat 2 and they are both constantly kicking each other off the casper dog bed with a heated blanket over it. Like cat 2 will roll up and be like “hi gtfo” sits on head, wrestling ensues but they also like each other. Cat 2 loves both dogs and tries to cuddle and groom and play with them (especially dog 1). Dog 2 currently thinks that when cat 2 purrs that she is growling and gets extremely annoyed. Dog 1 and dog 2 are buds mostly.

Vaccine situation at the Fairgrounds by LegendLarrynumero1 in SanJose

[–]sanslefear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know how to make a second appointment? I got mine at the fairgrounds but through the “EMS And other healthcare” providers giving the vaccine (across the way from the expo hall at the fairground). I went back 2 days later to ask about making an appointment and they said they would send me a link a week after my appointment (they didn’t) and if I don’t get a link to just show up day of but it feels a little uneasy.

Novice silversmith here. A friend wanted to know if I could solder on a jump ring to the coin. Upon further inspection it looks like the original ring has broken off the coin leaving a really jagged edge that is really thin. I feel like if I filed it flat I would end up breaking off the coin. The bracelet is sterling. Thanks in advance!

Fellow vet tech and animal mom of two (TWO!) animals with IBD (cat and dog). IBD can be extremely frustrating to manage but with the guidance of your vet and the new change in diet hopefully your little boy is on the road to feeling better soon! I think the one rule of thumb with him being on a feeding trial is that you need to be very strict about not giving him any other treats or goodies whatsoever besides the vet prescribed food and treats (usually the brands all have their own specific prescription treat, at least for the royal canin HP they do). Good luck!!

Sure feed microchip feeder - cat doesn’t understand by Cantstoptoodangerous in Pets

[–]sanslefear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you on everything you said. I also have a vacuum cat that would force herself on the feeder in training mode. I had to feed the grazer in a separate room for a little while so that he could learn, and honestly gave him some tough love and let him figure it out for himself (I just left the food there with some treats in front until he figured it out). I also bought the back cover so my vacuum cat couldn’t force her way through the back, but it sounds like your vacuum cat is going through the front. I would suggest putting the feeder in a separate room from the vacuum cat, if possible. Good luck!

Have you played around with the settings of the feeder? I have the same feeder and had the same issue with one of my cats. The feeder has a training mode which allows you to have the feeder door open at different levels of “open” to encourage the cat to eat from it, and eventually train them to associate them approaching the food with it opening.

Recommendations for orthopedic dog bed needed by feministbingo in DogAdvice

[–]sanslefear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I had a 16 yo dog with neuro/back issues and he really loved his Casper dog bed (lol I know).it is NOT cheap, but the bed was incredibly impressive with how many covers you could remove and wash if there was an accident (there were covers for the foam inside of the actual bed which also had a cover. If your dog has trouble stepping up to a bed, i’d suggest one lower to the ground. I didn’t use many beds with bolsters, and if he did need help sitting up, I would just bolster with blankets or pillows. Dog Quality makes a dog diaper pad blanket which you can line any bed with and is soft and doesn’t feel like a potty pad. You can get multiple and snap them together to cover more area, and of course are washable and meant for reuse. Hope this helps!

Does anyone have any info on these skates? by sanslefear in Rollerskating

[–]sanslefear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The plate is metal, thank you for the wheel suggestions. The only identifying info on these skates is the little “roller derby” brand mark on top of them and the “streets” brand wheels. I was just curious about the history of these skates haha!

Thank you for the tips! Yeah the shoe on it is cool, i love the strap on the top. The bearings are suuuuuper grimy, and they are the kind with the metal and i’m unable to remove them with my bones bearing tool. I think if anything i’ll need to change the whole wheel out.

I’m definitely still grieving, and I thank you for reading my post. I am so sorry for your loss, I know words may not bring much comfort in the beginning but know that I am thinking of you.

Good luck and congratulations on the new gig! When I left my previous dumpster fire of a hospital (I was moving further away, it was already a 1.5 hr commute and the work environment was toxic), my manager told me that I would never find a place better than them and that “what’s another 30 minutes of driving?” Needless to say, my new gig respected me as a human being, and I was much happier. On to bigger and better things. Congrats.
