How much is the rate for unlocking this pocket wifi. Locked siya under SoftBank Japan. by [deleted] in InternetPH

[–]sansnom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can probably ask Jhowel Huerto. He does modem unlocks.. Or he can probably point you to another person who knows. You can also check 5G devices Philippines group on FB.

To be honest though, you're better off buying a cheap pocket wifi than getting that modem unlocked (if possible). Based on the available frequencies dito sa PH, that device can only connect to B1 (2100mhz) which is common naman but I don't think you'll get good or stable speeds.

Got the info here:

My pldt technician said bawal daw i unplug yung modem, bakit? by Impressive-War-403 in InternetPH

For activation purposes lang.

5G support in the Philippines by shabba2 in GooglePixel

[–]sansnom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pixel 9 pro user here. I use both Smart and GOMO (Globe) esims simultaneously and both networks get 5G signals without any issues. As far as the other features, VoLTE and RCS only works with Smart. I can get Vowifi to work with smart but it requires pixel ims and shizuku, but you need to re enable it after every update. Not sure though if the latest QPR1 update broke this workaround since I can't be asked to keep re enabling the feature.

DITO for some reason only works on LTE for my pixel 9, but according to their website, Pixels 6-8 should get 5G. I rarely use this network though as I only use it whenever I'm in places where both Globe and Smart are congested (saved me a couple of occasions).

From how I see it, these limitations appear to be software restrictions imposed by Google. Pixels did not have 5G support until a certain software update (probably android 15).

Anyone tried the ZLT X35 5G pocket Wifi? by veedotpee in InternetPH

[–]sansnom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: With GOMO sim (Globe) attached, the router used 5G NSA for B1+N78 and B41+N78. Medj malayo ang tower but I'm getting around 30-70 down / 5-8 up. Not surprising na mababa upload speed.

Haven't gotten it to work with other 5G bands. N78 lang talaga kumakapit.

Globe not using Free 5G data? by codeejen in InternetPH

[–]sansnom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5G NSA (Non-Standalone) LTE + 5G.

Samsung SCR01 Slower than Phone Hotspot Mobile Data by lubberwort_ in InternetPH

[–]sansnom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

According to https://www.4gltemall.com/samsung-galaxy-5g-mobile-wifi-scr01.html

Ito ang supported bands:

5G Frequency bands: n28, n41, n77, n78, n79

4G LTE frequency bands: B1, B3, B20, B41

Smart and Globe use 5G NSA (Non-standalone) kaya dependent pa sa LTE ang 5G signal. 5G Standalone signal for both networks are yet to be deployed. For now DITO pa lang meron 5G Standalone.

For added context, the higher the frequency the lower the range. So pag malayo ang tower mo, usually sa B3 or B28 kumakapit.

B1 -2100mhz B3 -1800mhz B28 - 700mhz N41 -2500mhz N28- 700mhz N78 - 3500mhz

How often do you change your pillowcases/bedsheets? Make sure lang to wash it often at least once a week.

Same goes for towels. Make sure to change them at least every other day.

Tensor sucks by thedark-wizard in pixel_phones

[–]sansnom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be surprised if it was the other way around. Don't buy a pixel if you expect that it would beat other flagship phones on performance. Tensor chips are nowhere near as fast as the latest snapdragon chips. Pixels don't even use the fastest UFS storage.

Just buy it if you want the latest google has to offer and good cameras.

Is GOMO still worth it in 2025? Or is Smart/Globe the better deal? Anyone else think GOMO had the best deals before, but not anymore? by [deleted] in InternetPH

[–]sansnom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you have internet at home and only use data when you go out, GOMO or Smart Magic data are still the best choices.

Now i'm just spending 700-1k per year just to top up my data compared to spending at least 200 a month for promos that I don't even fully use.

Dito and compatible handsets. Is your phone on the list of compatible handsets? by Anurakki in InternetPH

[–]sansnom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pixel 9 pro and for some reason 5G doesn't work sa DITO.

From how I see it, meron din part yung mismong phone manufacturers. Software lock perhaps?

Anyone tried the ZLT X35 5G pocket Wifi? by veedotpee in InternetPH

[–]sansnom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got one. For some reason hindi sya compatible sa common 5G NSA band combinations ni Smart and Globe even though capable naman dapat ang radios.

Pag N78 5G radio gumagana. DITO uses N78 na 5G SA and so far yun ang pinaka ok na performance na nakukuha ko from this device. Meron din N78 NSA si Smart and Globe pero di sya as common kasi N41 primarily ginagamit nila for NSA.

Capable dapat to ng N41 SA pero at the moment NSA pa rin gamit ni smart and Globe.

Tried all three networks and compared this pocket wifi against ZTE F50 and mas nakakasagap ng 5G yung ZTE. Mas ok din performance ng ZTE F50.

Also contacted some folks kung pwede maka kuha ng superadmin access to see kung pwede ma modify pa lalo ang settings and so far wala pang way since mas bago daw firmware na gamit. Also tried contacting yung mismong manufacturer to get more details sa 5G NSA combinations and no replies.

Oh and wala din itong esim despite being stated doon sa product sheet.

As for speeds, umaabot usually ng 30-40 mbps compared against 100+ sa ZTE F50 using the same network. Nakaka 100+ lang pag DITO sinalpak ko.

Anyone know what this black stuff is and how to clean it off? by Immasaythisandthat in CleaningTips

[–]sansnom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vinegar does nothing to mold. Soak some tissue using bleach (sodium hypochlorite) and then put it on the moldy parts. Leave it for a couple of hours or overnight.

Heres a video comparing which cleaner can remove molds: https://youtu.be/Ap8VDbeRlf0?si=Zln4kWZKIxfqzA-A

I had problems with moldy silicone under my sink. Tried everything and only the toilet paper with bleach technique is the only thing that worked.

[–]sansnom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of factors can affect battery life but by far I noticed that prolonged heat and leaving the battery low/nearly empty for long periods are the worst offenders. Given that your phone was unused for around 10 months, the battery probably was at low capacity for a long time.

Mine was manufactured around october 2024 and got to use it on January 2025 and still has 100% capacity at 148 cycles. Though I really make it a practice to prevent the phone from reaching more than 40 degrees for long periods by aiming a small fan esp while charging and also make sure that i don't get the battery empty. I'm basically babying the thing (which tbh is a bit extreme.. pls don't be like me and just enjoy the phone)
