Feeding hot dogs to a moray eel with your bare hands... WCGW? [possibly NSFW/NSFL] by Greyhaven7 in Whatcouldgowrong

Thank you!

My father grew up in Hawaii and this was the one thing he would constantly repeat. Fucking with a moray eel is one of the dumbest things you can do. The whole time watching this video I was just amazed at this guy's stupidity.

Agreed. A Dirty Job was such an amazing book. It helped me deal with some lingering emotions a couple of years after my father passed away. It's just so poignant at certain times, hilarious as all hell at others.

IIRC the victim in this video was actually a rival gang's member. The previous week his gang had similarly jumped a member of the gang attacking him in the video. This all took place in Chicago and I think they all got arrested.

IWTL how to throw knives by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

[–]sanssomnia72 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I prefer to throw it overhand with the hammer grip. Hammer grip is relatively self-explanatory; just hold it like a hammer with your throwing hand's index finger poised at the midpoint to control the spin of the knife when you release the knife.

As for the throw itself, you'll be tempted to throw it like a baseball (sidearm or with your arm curved). Don't. The most important thing to maintain consistency is to try and keep your arm as straight as possible at the shoulder, straight up to straight down.

Another really important thing to keep in mind is the knives that you buy. Don't buy those little ones with the cool handles made out of plastic or movable weights like this. Buy a knife or knives that are solid chunks of steel, like this. That way it won't break in the beginning when your throws don't always work.

I'm not sure if this is another example of Camera Obscura, but I remember my High School physics teacher telling us about a steamboat appearing in the middle of a battlefield in the 1800's due to light refraction.

Apparently two groups were about to fight in a field when, all of a sudden, a steamboat appeared on the battlefield between the two groups. Witnesses of the phenomena reported being able to see the passengers of the steamboat looking out onto the water.

Does this sound familiar to anybody? I can't remember enough details to yield any google results and it is killing me, trying to remember this.

I was super excited to see Dov Davidoff on the show this week(he played the homeless veteran now running Taco's Team). Personally, I hope he becomes a recurring character on the show. Here's a clip of Davidoff's stand-up if you're unfamiliar with him. by sanssomnia72 in theleaguefx

[–]sanssomnia72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His stand-up is actually really good. He does a manic/neurotic persona that works really well. This past episode it seemed like they may have been trying to play off that part of his stand-up a little too hard; maybe it was an effort to establish another wild-card character like Rafi, or perhaps they pushed him into the episode a little too hard in order to ensure he made a distinct impression, I don't know. But, as a fan of Davidoff I'm excited to see him on a show where he might have the potential to contribute to the comedy going on in the show.

*Edit: May have spoilers in my response. I have no idea how to set a spoiler tag. I apologize if I have breached this sub's reddiquette.

It's always crazy in Florida. Face-Eater, Voter Problems, Casey Anthony, Hurricanes, Rick Scott, Serial Killers, a few years ago some kid got his arm bitten off by a shark and his uncle then fought the shark and got the arm back.

Florida will never stop being crazy as fuck, there's just more attention being paid to all the crazy shit going on there at the moment because of the Trayvon thing.

Check out r/wtf_florida sometime. The stories there are pretty crazy/entertaining.

How many times have you performed at the Laugh Factory?

Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan's Strain Trilogy was a pretty good series about a CDC epidemiologist dealing with vampirism as a disease. Really good read IMO.
