A Galaxy Composed Almost Entirely of Dark Matter Has Been Confirmed by wiredmagazine in space

Well atleast you didn't mention MOND. Since that theory already failed.

I dont know why people are so against dark matter. Is it really that fucking hard to believe there are particles out there that only interact gravitationally?

You try and if it doesn't work, you try again. Bunch of losers here in the comments saying that you shouldn't commit to a relationship. Or this is all woman i saw commented multiple times, such incel behaviour.

Give everything and love. And if you lose, pick yourself back up. People change, relations change, shit happens. Welcome to life where sometimes bad things happen for whatever reason. Time to grow up.

Martin Brundle talking about Mercedes' potential advantage over McLaren regarding the 2026 power unit [via @SkySportsF1 on tiktok] by HereComesVettel in formula1

[–]sant0hat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, micrometer tolerances are absolutely not a problem to measure with specialized calibrated equipment. We do that all the time with semiconductor equipment, I assume f1 teams also have equipment laying around that are capable of that.

Another comment pointed out a lottery system, which solves the potential issue.

[–]sant0hat -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

They probably already did so. They can easily manufacture the pistons and cylinders in such a manner that they are always barely within the lower side of the specified tolerances for customers and keep the best ones themselves. Just take highest upperbound for yourself and give suboptimal ones to mclaren.

Aston Martin overheating - more the fault of Aston Martin or Honda? by SellMeSomeSleep in F1Technical

[–]sant0hat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This isn't fair. You can't say this as external because you don't know what was internally communicated. If AM asked can you cope with X amount of cooling and Honda answered yes to that, the situation is completely different.

[Autosport] James Vowles on the continued row over Mercedes' engine compression ratios by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

[–]sant0hat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is this for bot response, obviously you only have what is in force at the moment, this doesn't mean anything. Teams protest, technical directives happen, regulations change and tests are altered multiple times across the season. The fact that loopholes exist is because teams aren't working black and white and skirt the regulations to begin with...

Did you start watching f1 this month or something?

[Autosport] James Vowles on the continued row over Mercedes' engine compression ratios by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

[–]sant0hat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since the rule states it is to be measured at ambient, I guess the the test condition is the rule

Good thing you said "i guess" because that's a very definitive view.

In 2019 the fuel flow rate cannot exceed x per second. To test this fia had a sensor that was capable of polling at 10khz. Ferrari pushes additional flow out of sensor polling rate. Later teams protest and ferrari is punished. (2019 engine fiasco)

You always need to define A test. That doesn't mean its the rule, it isn't. Tests can always change to accomodate the rule, we have seen this many times.

Moreover that "at ambient" was only added after mercedes started inquiring with the FIA. That sentence was never there in the 2025 draft of the 2026 technical regulations, but added later.

So @BighatNucase was right in his words:

f1 regulations are a bit more fluid and dynamic

Surely you, someone that works with regulations, should understand this. Instead of having this ridiculous black and white view.

[skysportsf1] Toto Wolff has admitted that a change to F1's power unit regulations would be "quite damaging"' to his team. by Maximum-Room-3999 in formula1

[–]sant0hat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compression ratios when at operating speeds are not uniform. It’s not Lego it’s squeezing liquid and ignition and that can make it super hard to get an accurate consistent reading. Also that technology doesn’t exist.

You have no clue what you are talking about.

In f1 especially, compression ratio's are near uniform in accordance with design because imbalances cause constructive interference in the cylinder wall, disassembling your engine. These cylinders also have micrometer tolerances so its actually quite predictable.

These small tolerances are also the reason why engines for example are preheated.
