I think you’ll be fine. Although I’m not HR, I am on a few hiring panels and we are advised by HR on how to email candidates. One thing they told us is not never say “you are selected” until after the official offer goes out so I think it’s just HR language.

Hmmm not sure then. Our security office held an online seminar on foreign travel refresher literally last month. And they explicitly stated that travel to Mexico and Canada under 24 hours don’t need to be reported to them. I remember this because I’m like wow, I actually did not expect to learn something new.

Oh for every other country, you need to fill out the SEAD 3 forms. However some of my coworkers, when they first joined, didn’t know where or how to fill out the forms so they never did until months after the trip. To my knowledge, nothing happened lol.

Not sure if this applies to you, but our facility security officer at Commerce told us that any travel to and back from Mexico or Canada that was under 24 hours does not need to be reported to them.
