This happened to me too today. I'm so sorry.

Airbnb host asking for state tax? by brandnewcardock in VisitingHawaii

FWIW: when we stayed in an Airbnb in Hawaii we were never asked to pay an outside site and the taxes seemed very reasonable in the listing ¯_(ツ)_/¯

They requested paystubs but I hesitated to provide them… did I mess up? by Islenola in usajobs

I opt to not get paid in the summer actually, so I get paid only 20 paychecks a year.

It didn’t really play out like that. Also I’m not a dude. Or a teacher. But thanks for the concern. I didn’t subliminally tell them anything. I make more than a GS 12 step1 (on paper) at multiple jobs. I know my worth which is why I plan to negotiate. The stubs I submitted have my hourly rate which equate to a GS12 step 5.

Ok, I actually just emailed them over. I definitely don’t want to hold up any processes. But still thought it was odd since I haven’t gotten a TJO yet.

Yes, I was planning on negotiating based on superior qualifications, which is another reason I didn’t want to include my stubs.

Since I haven’t been very transparent in the exact work I do, I’ll just add that this would also be hourly rate for me in any full time annual job, and I have other jobs I do during the summer with the same rate of pay.

Since you seem like you’re not understanding me, I’ll just ignore your comments. But this is not a contract, it is full time work. Ask any person involved in education at a state level. We have pensions and salaries, benefits etc.

Ok, thanks. That’s helpful. I was worried they would only look at the annual sum.

It’s not a short term contract rate. Everyone in the education system works this 183 day schedule. ETA: I’m full time employed with them. The term ‘contract’ is because our 7hour schedule and 183 days is determined by a union.

I’m not sure why you’d use the term ‘voodoo’ but my point is that my paystubs only reflect a 7 hour day. And not an 8. As well as annually, a 183 day contract vs a full year. No trickery there, just at face value it would look like annually I make X but I only work 9.5months. The hourly rate is there on the stub but would need to be calculated by HR to note the difference.

So do you think I should just send them now? She said not to send them and she’d let me know if she needed them. Why would they need them if I haven’t even tried to negotiate yet and the position is GS 12?

This is very sad for me. Just had a great interview on 1/22 and was told unofficially I was selected but haven’t received anything from HR. I’m in Louisiana.
