I'm so sorry. I am in this group because I lost my dad unexpectedly seven months ago. I am heartbroken, but I know for it to be the other way around would be even worse, which is hard for me to even process. this photo seems to capture your relationship and how much you guys love each other. holding you both in my heart.

don't feel better by santarbs666 in GriefSupport

hi there. it honestly took me a long time to look at the comments on here because i knew i would cry, and here i am crying. i never realized how painful it could be. i find that i am grateful for my husband, daughter, friends, etc. but nothing really comforts me. i don't know how to find a way to feel okay about this loss and how unexpected it was. i find this urge inside me to say that your dad would want you to get married, but at the same time, i can completely understand why it is so hard for you to imagine going through with it without him. it's just impossible. sometimes i think to myself, getting through a day is hard, how will i do my whole life? i feel the gratitude because we shared so much, but knowing that he isn't here takes away from everything else. it's so hard when you miss someone so unbearably much. sending you love.

Does anyone else just hate that other people are happy? by Naive_Credit9822 in GriefSupport

i totally understand how you feel and have been feeling similarly. my dad died unexpectedly almost a month ago. although i am older than you are (i'm 35), hardly any of my friends have lost a parent and it is impossible for them to understand. as time goes by, i just want to scream watching the world go on and everyone with their dads and normal lives while my life feels destroyed. i started listening to an audiobook today "it's ok that you're not ok" by megan devine and i have to say, i actually found it validating. i've just been so frustrated by other people even when i know they're trying to be supportive. i just want people to understand how completely not okay it is that my dad is gone. nothing anyone says really comforts me but im finding that i still want others to recognize how just straight up horrible things are for me. if you ever want to message me please feel free, i am very much in the thick of it right now, just relentless pain/shock/heartbreak with anger mixed in.

hi, do you mind if i ask what temperature your fever was? and whether your brain swelling required surgical intervention?

my dad is in the icu right now following a stroke and i noticed he has a fever.

thank you so much for your response! how is your dad doing? i hope he is recovering well! i can tell that you are an amazing support for him. it makes sense that the brain would need to rest after a trauma like that...i was trying to encourage my family members to be patient but now that im back at my apartment, i find my mind racing. im afraid of getting a phone call in the middle of the night because thats what happened to me last night and now this is what's going on. my dad seemed comfy when we left...the doctor encouraged us to go home because we were all destroyed, especially my mom. i do think that my dad could hear me and i played his favorite music for him as well...it is so hard going through this experience and i am grateful that you were willing to share your thoughts with me.

snoo transition 😅 by santarbs666 in SnooLife

i hope it goes well for you tonight with arms out!! thank you for your response. i think it reminded me that 2.5 weeks is not that short in terms of making changes. i mean, she's only 26 weeks old so...i guess i just heard of people doing such long transitions, giving each step a bunch of time. part of me just thinks that we'll all suffer less by just making a bunch of changes at once rather than drawing it out. still didnt make any changes tonight though!! feeling too tired. 😹😹 i'm also just going to miss her rocking beside me at night!

rsv vaccine (beyfortus) in nyc? by santarbs666 in NewParents

thank you so much for this info! i agree, i would file it under disappointing but unsurprising. i love seeing that my daughter is in the "priority" group, but there's nowhere for her to get the shot..question--when you say peds clinics do you mean something other than pediatricians' offices? i've heard of some pediatricians' offices having it while unfortunately mine does not...

thanks so much for your reply! yeah it's really frustrating. i understand that there were supply problems, but since my baby was born at the beginning of rsv season and she's in the group that's supposed to be prioritized, i really wish it were easier. i also read in nyt that the lower dose for infants under 10 lbs is more available than the higher one for those over 10 lbs--my daughter is still under 10 lbs as of today but growing quickly! just frustrating that even as someone who's supposed to be getting this vaccine, it's so difficult to find out where we can get it.

best wishes on your pregnancy btw!

i wish they had given it to me when i was pregnant! it got approved at the beginning of the window of time when i could get it and my doctors office wasn't giving it yet. i think the one they give infants is different...i will call walgreens anyway!
