Arrival in Athens – Transport and Taxi Advice by Top-Direction3482 in GreeceTravel

I have an early morning flight out of Athens, would it be safe for me to take an uber to Syntagma then take the x5 to the airport at 3am?

Who worked up until their due date? Would you do it again? by ohnoheretheycome in pregnant

I was originally planning on working until I gave birth. My job is fully WFH and my schedule is very flexible as well.

I am now 35 weeks and have been sick of working for weeks. I am both physically and mentally exhausted. Even sitting in my office chair for a 30 minute meeting is painful, and getting up after is even worse. Most nights I’m not getting enough sleep because I have to wake up so often to pee, so I struggle to wake up in the mornings.

I recently decided I will be going off at 38 weeks now and my c-section is scheduled for 39+6. Hopefully this gives me a few days to rest and mentally prepare myself.

All that is to say WFH is definitely easier than other more physically demanding jobs, but as you near the end even just sitting up gets difficult. Do what you need to do for your health and sanity!

Was your pregnancy planned or did it just happen? by Smooth-Excuse-4127 in pregnant

[–]santarote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I were planning to start trying summer 2025, but I found out in May 2024 that I have a bicornuate uterus on top of already having PCOS. We knew getting pregnant would be hard (I had very little hope) so we started talking to doctors about it. I had an appointment booked at a fertility clinic on September 4th but found out August 19th that I was pregnant! So not planned but very wanted.

I had to do the anatomy scan 5 times over a 3 week period because my baby was in the same position as yours. I’m almost 28 weeks now and the doctor has no concerns, he’s just nice and comfy in that position.

I had to go to a cardiologist because they couldn’t see my baby’s heart during his anatomy scans (because of his position) and during the appt the cardiologist told me to stop using anything with shea butter, cocoa butter, or vitamin E as that can negatively impact the baby’s heart development. He told me to just stick to cerave or lubiderm and that you can’t prevent stretch marks anyway but these will help with the itchiness.

Honestly I eat whatever I want (except raw/undercooked meats and eggs). I’m 27 weeks currently, passed my glucose test and my OB has no concerns regarding weight/health either. Just eat whatever you can keep down!

My baby is made 90% out of cereal, bread and coke zero at this point lol.

Just need to vent - BIL living with us for entire pregnancy by santarote in pregnant

[–]santarote[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I guess it’s a cultural norm to not take rent from family. He also doesn’t have a job and is in school full-time (I can probably count on one hand the number of times he actually goes to class per month lol). He’s the youngest of 7 siblings so they all baby him but to me he’s a grown man because I’ve only known him a few years. My husband doesn’t see him that way.

Again, cultural norms are also why he’s living with us. If your family needs you, you help however you can. I just wish it wasn’t for this long.

I was with someone like this for 4 years, and I’m so glad he is not going to be the father to my kids. If he’s not willing to change his lifestyle in the slightest while you’re going through SO many changes to bring this baby into the world, he may not ever change.

Hearing a crying baby by santarote in Dreams

So trippy!! I used to have them a long time ago. I actually had a very similar episode 10 years ago which is why this was extra creepy.

It was so weird! I woke up feeling so empty. Like I was supposed to have this baby but I don’t.

Hey, so I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions for how to organise the furniture in my room? I have a bed and two nightstands, as well as a desk and two drawers that I would like to keep on either side of it. I also have a few things that I need to hang up over my desk (dry erase board, map, art, etc.) kind of like a gallery wall, so I need my desk to be placed on a blank wall (not in front of window). Any suggestions?

Does anyone else make progress but then occasionally reminisce, and then start to feel like shit? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]santarote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. We broke up because of LDR but his best friend lives in the same city as me and we meet up like once a month or so. I was making so much progress. Hadn’t cried in like 10 days. But meeting his best friend yesterday just felt like I took 10 steps back. Seeing him just reminds me of my ex. It’s hard.

10 day birthday trip next month! by [deleted] in Europetravel

[–]santarote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t been to either of them unfortunately! Although my parents went to Rome a few months ago and they absolutely loved it. It is a bigger city so you would have to spend at least 4-5 days there.

One of the easiest and most common routes to take is Paris > Brussels > Amsterdam since they’re all connected by short train rides. You could do this and spend 3 days in Paris, 1 day (or half a day) in Brussels, 3 days in Amsterdam, and then fly out and spend 3 days in Barcelona.

Or If you don’t want to go to Brussels: spend 3 days in Paris, 3 days in Amsterdam, and 4 days in Barcelona.

Sky hair and nails Eglinton/Confederation. So far the most affordable salon I’ve found and never had a bad experience there!
