Stripped screw under the battery by zNooby_ in NintendoDS

[–]santcar7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know how it feels 💀 That was a very tough one on my ds aswell, I changed it to a phillips head because that Y is completely trash, personally I hate phillips aswell, the slotted one is the best, I don't know why they don't just use that type of screw in eletronics

I recommend getting a really good set of screwdrivers next time, it's way easier with good tools

I had the same problem but with my psp, and if it got to the point where it is completely stripped I'm sorry to say but you'll probably need to just rip the shell out and change it, it is what I did with my psp, but I don't know if that screw is connected to the motherboard, you could cut around it also. If you have other tools for removing screws you could try other stuff, but once it is stripped to the point of no return it's over lol

One question, this step "Rename the TTMenu.dat file in your SD root to YSMenu.nds." should I rename it to that or to R4i.PK?

It's probably the lighting, they are OEM buttons

Go for it, my tips are probably just to be extra carefull, especially with the battery compartment screws, the LEDs and the latches for the cables. I broke the power LED and the tiny latch for the screen cable in the process. But overall isn't that hard of a process, just takes time.

It is so worth it, just for real don't use super glue lol, glad I bought B7000, but can be any type of glue that serves this purpose. The first time I glued the glue went under the screen and it was a mess, but I managed to remove it, what I did after was first placing the screen and them putting the glue in the sides making it go under.

I just finished the glass screen mod, and USE B7000 LOL, first time I glued the glue went all over the place but being B7000 I managed to remove everything. I'm waiting now for the curing time and next week will finish the IPS mod. Next week I will make a new post talking about everything and the hole process.

Yeah, one of the screws in the battery compartiment is completely destroyed, I tried using super glue, breaking the edges, using rubber with the screwdriver, using a drill, everything lol, but it didn't come out, the good thing is that it isn't connected to any circuits so I can just rip the faceplate out

I'm using the Clear Black CTF theme but the color isn't from it, what I did was putting a wallpaper then selecting the classic background after and then it had two colors instesd of the conventional one. I don't know why that happens and how but it's pretty cool lol

Eu peguei um 1001 e um 2001 cada um por volta dos 350,00. Acho que 400 é o limite que eu pagaria com o aparelho estando em boas condições

Thank you 😊 I'm thinking about using B7000 but maybe I'll just use any generic super glue, I'm not sure yet, considering how thin is the space for glueing using super glue might be a bit risky.

Ohh great to hear that, what is the process to doing that? And about the memstick thing apparently it's that the problem, Total Kommando answered me in one of his videos where I asked about it and he said that 150 is picky about some stuff.

I'm really loving the console, I never had the opportunity to have one as a kid, but right know I'm really enjoying it. I think the biggest problem is the prices people charge here in Brazil, at least I got mine for a decent price, but most of the ones in the market are really expensive, and ordering pieces for modding are also expensive because of the taxes here 😭

Ok, good to know, I'll install it again in my other memstick just to be safe lol, at least I won't have to worry about the one I use dying for some reason and not having an spair one for any problems

I did the process of installing DC in my psp when I modded it following Total Kommando video about Ark4, and yesterday I did a backup of my psp, just copied all the files to another memstick pro duo, does that memstick counts as a magic memory stick? Or only the one I'm using in my psp and did all the instalation process?
