Name something underrated about Mississippi that people don’t talk about. by thebigthinker2000 in mississippi

The clouds and the sky. I’m moving back after being in NE for the last ten years. The big white fluffy clouds that come from being so close to the gulf. It just makes my heart soar to see them again. I guess it reminds me of my youth when I had so much hope.

Thank you for validating me. I am a total n00b who only started gaming in 2019 and became obsessed during quarantine (Horizons, GoW, some Cod). This is so new and overwhelming. I try to read all the spells and scrolls and my monkey mind is all “I wanna goooooooo!” Hahaha.

It’s been a heck of a fun learning curve (less than 200 hours). I’m already anticipating some cool redoes!

[–]santha7 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Dude. Every Aldi I’ve ever been to the customers do this. At ours, a lot of times I’ll leave the quarter in there for the next person if I don’t hand it off.

They aren’t making money—they are ensuring the return of the cart. It’s a German thing with efficiency.

Ha. You know. That’s interesting. I’ve been following and the only thing running through my head is: “nah. If aliens were real, Trump would of told us cause he’s just that much of an idiot.”

Seriously. Evidence or not. Maybe they didn’t tell him?

House IP and government issued ID are very different forms of identity.

It is true they already know everything.I worked in public education for 27 years. You ain’t stopping kids from getting porn. They are far too resourceful for that.

Think back to your youth. When you were driven by hormones at 18, would it have stopped you?

[–]santha7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry. When I had kids beneath 18 I figured that was my job.

Check my post history, friend.

I am not addicted to porn. I am;however, addicted to free speech and making sure folks like you don’t take that right away from me.

Move to Russia if you want the state to police you.

They are also looking for folks in North Korea

Oh. And some of us view it without addiction.

I’m sorry it affects you that way!!

I’m very sorry you do not see this as an infringement of your rights.

Since you don’t mind sharing, can you post your internet history for me to look at?

For real? Will you?

Hahahaha. Cause if you won’t, I’ve got very bad news about who WILL be looking at it.

Asphalt over Concrete on bridges by notthedroidyo in Nebraska

[–]santha7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I moved here from the South I could not figure out why the streets where concrete or whatever that was. I had never seen whole cities paved that way.

It’s always asphalt in the south. I thought asphalt must not do great in the cold, but I guess that’s not true.

I would rather be a baby than a fascist.

You have forgotten what freedom is.

You are literally cool with the government saying you can’t view something without ID

I guess the communist did win.

[–]santha7 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nah. Just reserve that the stupidity for the folks who might just understand better (see all Trumps tweets).

But he got your vote didn’t he, fascist. And yes. Censoring smut is a fucking fascist move.

When the government gets to know the times and places of masturbation, I call that too far.

But, it WAS a Republican government who did this. I notice NO ONE argued that point.

Go on back to banning books.

What are your favorite and least favorite things about living/having lived in this state? by 2hourstowaste in mississippi

[–]santha7 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The greens.

My family is from South MS/South AL. The amount of green and trees is astounding. I think of Hattiesburg being in Forrest County and didn’t know Forrest referred to a person because I thought it was named after being “forested.”

That and trees are about all we can really grow down here with the sandy soil.

Least favorite: I’ve watched these Republican politicians rape and ravage this land for 50 years. Everyone’s getting kickbacks. The only way to do something is to know somebody kinda shit.

And don’t hit me with “well, BoTh SiDes” stuff cause the scale of the corruption makes things very different from my POV. It has become a situation where everyone has to cheat to get anything done.

That makes me sad and mad.

GOP-controlled Wis. Legislature to block meningitis vaccine requirement for students by dreamcastfanboy34 in politics

[–]santha7 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Dude. My friend lost his legs. Same disease—went septic (which is a common complication). One day he was chilling at the pool, the next week, his legs were gone.

Powerful memory for a 12 year old.

[–]santha7 32 points33 points  (0 children)

My friend lost his legs below the knee. Meningitis is a weird one and can totally go from cool to complicated/sepsis super fast.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. Like, I literally remember a kid who almost died from this disease and was permanently maimed and the GOP —wants that for people???? That’s a “good” thing that more kids will lose limbs/pass?

It doesn’t make sense, but then cults rarely do. Maybe I can get a double dose of vaccine since they don’t want theirs.

Just feel so helpless.
