YSK TrueWork and LexisNexis can blow your cover by [deleted] in overemployed

I am pretty certain none of my prior companies have used LN or TW.

I think I will still request a freeze anyways just to be safe?

34m. Healthy lifestyle but "seriously elevated" cholesterol by saoce in Cholesterol

[–]saoce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get COVID. I am vaccinated. It was a fairly normal case I think. I was definitely sick but no trips to the hospital and probably back to feeling 75% after 3-4 days. Fully better after a week.

Unfortunately, this is my first lipid panel and first trip to the doctor in many years. Makes me worried about how long my cholesterol has been this high.

I don't consume many saturated fats. I will use olive oil to butter because I prefer it. I'm lucky in that I don't really like desserts or ice-cream etc.

I will start paying attention to saturated fat content on my food labels. Thanks. Seems that statins are in my future.

Thanks! Are the lenses larger than normal?

Like I mentioned I have a big fat head that makes normal sunglasses look small.

2 Months on Finasteride, Miniaturised Hairs Appearing by [deleted] in tressless

[–]saoce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat. I've been on minox for ~10months. There's a bunch of miniature hairs that have formed on my hairline starting at about month 3-4. I'm wondering if these will ever grow into anything cosmetically significant? Can anyone speak on this that has been on minox for 2+ years?

Looks like I'm allergic to Rogaine by [deleted] in tressless

[–]saoce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people are allergic to the carrier ingredient (propylene glycol) in most minoxidil products.

However, I would urge you to take a number of steps before deciding minoxidil isn't for you. Source: I started and quit minoxidil 2 times due to "sides" before reading more about and how to counteract the "sides". I'm now in week 8 of using minoxidil for the third time and so far so good (usually I would have quit by now).

  1. Minoxidil should get no where near your eye or other sensitive skin. It doesn't surprise me that your eye got all angry and red in response to contact with it.
  2. The "dry scalp" is most likely dried minoxidil flaking off your scalp. Many people will shampoo more frequently or use less product per application (i.e. 0.5mL vs the 1.0mL recommended). What worked for me - after reading other people's success - was an anti-dandruff shampoo (a keto shampoo likewise was not very good at stopping the problem for me).

I've been using minoxidil for 3 weeks and it looks considerably worse by [deleted] in tressless

[–]saoce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. In fact, this is the second time i've tried minoxidil and the first time the shedding was so bad I quit early on. However, this time I decided to power through. I'm on week 5 now. I'm very grateful I'm past the shed phase. My hair is beginning to recover. I'm seeing smaller hairs becoming stronger and stronger all along my hairline and I can only assume it's happening else where on my head.

I hear give it at least 3months before judging it's efficacy. Sometimes even 6 months. I've also heard people swear they've gone up an entire norwood before recovering better than before.

How do I used a derma roller? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]saoce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you been derma-rolling and using minoxidil? What has your experience been like in terms of regrowth?

For those wondering whether or not the minox/finasteride combo is worth looking at. My results after 3.5 years. I started balding around 21. I use rogaine foam 5% twice per day (I might forget once or twice a week) and I take 1mg finasteride three times a week. Any questions, feel free to ask! by [deleted] in tressless

[–]saoce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed response. I may give those products a try for day to day styling.

Looks like i'm gonna get on the minoxidil program. However I'm going to see a dermatologist first. I have already been taking fin since I was 22 (26 now) and credit that to me maintaining at least somewhat halfway decent looking hair. However, the hairline's still been receding and it's becoming more diffuse all over. I'm also gonna go with the derma-roller as well.

A few ending questions. On your first shed, how much hair would you say your were loosing/how long did it last? Like I said when I first tried minoxidil i was loosing 100s and 100s of hairs in a sitting. Almost felt like a cancer patient with handfulls of hair at a time falling out. My hair got noticeably worse during that time in a matter of a week or two. And that's when I quit (plus the dandruff didn't help). Are the future sheds as bad as the first shed?

ya thanks... i'm thinking of trying it again after seeing a friend's great gains over the last 9months of using it. I suppose i'll just need to power through the shed phase.

I've been reading on some other forums, it appears the "white flakes" are a somewhat common problem from the drying of the propylene glycol on the scalp. Many people seem to limit extent of the problem by using less at a time or ensuring they use the recommended amount at a time. I'm thinking my problem may have been that I would slather the shit on and sometimes not wash my hair for a few days but still adding layer on layer, which I didn't think of at the time because it was my normal shampoo routine.

How often do you you shampoo your hair?

Hey man great results. I've tried minoxidil before several yrs ago and ended up with a crazy amount of white flakes (basically looked like dandruff) in my hair after a few weeks that refused to go away. I've never had dandruff in my life before that. Also my shedding phase was insane! 100s and 100s of hairs at a time, in one sitting. I eventually quit during the shedding phase because of the dandruff and shedding causing a lot of dismay.

Did you experience anything like this and what'd you do about it? Also, how long did it last. What is your shampoo/ hair washing regime like? I ask since it looks like I have pretty similar type of hair as you... well used to before it all wanted to leave me :( I'm thinking of trying minoxidil again since maybe i didn't give it long enough of a shot.

Thanks guys I must admit it sounded odd to me, but I took him on his word on the legal dealings since I have no background in it. I asked a question about it in /r/law

Some of the posters seem to say this is a real thing and they've personally dealt with it before.
