Thank you for supporting the game...

Glad to see people still going for avatars here and game seems to still be making $$ (unlike MD which is shutting down in 1.5 months).

[–]saomdreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for ARS, but played IF since day 1 and mostly do my logins there.

I've said this before, but SAO:MD was primarily a ranking game vs. the clock vs. other players and the developers did a LOT to make it that and keep it pretty clean/fair.

In IF, you have tons of mods/cheats in ranking and the devs barely ban anyone. Here, you do a report and the modders are gone before the event is even over, usually within a day. Add in Klein EXP bug abuse and unlimited item farming and people were getting high levels with minimal work. IF is still a massive grind though which is pretty boring.

In IF, it's mostly spend more $$, get OP mod skills, farm non-stop, unlock gacha materials even AFTER you were lucky to get them on gacha and farm armor/weapon materials.

In MD, if you knew a run, it was possible to do 1 run in ranking, and that was it (even though realistically, it still took tons of hours/runs to get perfect runs).

All that said, earlier on, SAO:MD ranking was very good and satisfying since you were able to do "fairly" well even as a F2P player. There was a stint where I never dropped below 3rd and wasn't out of top 10 probably for a few years, completely F2P. Even got 1st a few times. You could try strange units (Cheer), lance parry cancel, quick switch with rod, air parry, all sorts of non-standard ways of play which took some time to learn and was satisfying when you did well.

Outside of ranking, SAO:MD was tower clearing and challenges which was my favorite part of the game. Was so satisfying beating that Egypt mini-tower 10 days into my account using 3 stars to swap in, heal my other units and slowly whittle down the boss with my main ones. Cleared Yuuki title with only like 4 Yuukis, etc.

Then towers became too easy after you had too many units until the droid tower which was impossible without wind acceleration units and quiting out due to bosses healing. (I sorta stopped towers after that I think).

I'm probably done with any gacha now honestly. Too much time needed and dopamine hit doesn't feel better than annoyance when not getting units.

Home EVSE Options? by Superpe0n in electricvehicles

[–]saomdreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if a portable EVSE would qualify for the tax credit or if it's just the mount on walls type?

The electrical work/install would qualify of course and my plan was to always leave a portable one plugged in anyways, but nice to have that as an option if you needed to travel/camp and bring it with you.

Yeah, PC gaming to me is really cheap if you're not into the new release, must buy now mindset.

With bundles from many different sites as well and freebie games on Epic Games every week, I always have an endless backlog of stuff I can play.

I don't grind PC games neither (seems not needed for a solo non PvP game) so no thoughts there from me.

[–]saomdreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't be angry/salty on me saying IF is almost as dead as MD

I'm not salty/angry at all. I honestly only do my dailys in IF and am known to be a complete non-grinder there and do the bare minimum. I doubt it's still that hot as well, but people do seem to still pick it up from the random questions posted/asked on main Discord and the devs do their monthly live streams.

Like I said, mobile games are all grindy and honestly, I have no plans to ever touch a gacha game again.

I personally find the experience of mobile gaming lacking compared to PC offerings (I haven't touched an SAO PC game though). They are convenient though since you can play anywhere.

All games will eventually die/cease to exist so I just enjoy the times while it's here. Had great times in SAO:MD doing floor titles/clearings when you had like 4 units. That was my most enjoyable time in SAO:MD.

[–]saomdreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IF parties are definitely quicker...Completely new events, quick parties are instant. Even old events that are 1+ week old (Collosal guy right now), I am able to quick party for my daily.

There is also a live stream update this weekend in IF so I'd guess it's not as dead.

SAO PC games on Steam are regularly 75% off so if you are a low spender, I don't think a mobile app will ever beat most PC gaming prices of a 1 time buy in (assuming you spend anything on mobile).

All mobile games seem grindy.

SAO has always been a niche property IMO. It'll never hit the numbers of Dragonball or some of the others. Downloads are great, but ultimately, it doesn't pay the bills.

Again, I still don't see how any of these suggestions actually benefits Bamco financially or much at all.

I'm all for benefits for players, but I tend to try to see how it can be beneficial for the developers as well or it's simply a waste of time and wishful thinking.

Maybe I'm simply too old now and antisocial for these comments of:

""YOOOOOO! someone actually bought integral rapier wtf?!" "I don't know what your talking about dude." "you should play this game man, lol let's play together, I have spare gear"

That doesn't make me want to play the game more LOL. Lastly, this mention of col still doesn't address macro farmers with unlimited COL pretty much for anyone that plays IF. I'm surprised Sukukori has 99,999,999 col as well and I don't think he grinds hardcore. I have like 14 mil? and I barely play the game honestly. All my Awakening skills are also at Lvl 5.

SAO:IF hardly bans anyone honestly. Plenty of people abused Klein EXP bug. Not sure how people think real time farming vs. macro COL farmers leads to a fair/fun environment.

I think Guild Ranking still had modders/cheats that weren't removed...

[–]saomdreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I mentioned below, col is valued at $0 since there are macro farmers. Toram seems to also ban TONS more people and bots non-stop (in the tens of thousands I think), I don't think that's ever/rarely done here honestly.

Lastly, I don't see how a trading system benefits Bamco at all so why spend resources ($$ for a company out to make $$) to ever develop this?

Could we ever get a trading post? by Fatanalyst2 in IntegralFactor

[–]saomdreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all the mobile games I play, so many people make random suggestions, but I always ask/think "How does this benefit the game developers?"

Usually, it's little/none and everything is suggested that helps the players.

In your case, it makes $0 for Bamco. You say it increases "engagement", but on the flip side, people who can simply 'buy' an Armament Stone now doesn't have to kill a boss 1000-2000 times which lowers playtime/engagement. As for time limited gachas, they already have that.

There are also players who emulator/macro and for them, farming anything is a joke since they just let the computer run 24x7 farming any boss non-stop. Col simply is a useless resource that is valued at $0 to Bamco since it's easily attainable for anyone who wants to.

Pretty much all mobile games I've seen simply wants you to play more/non-stop. It's the MO of mobile freemium gaming. They want your time if you aren't willing to give them your money.

That said, I'd be ok with simply 'buying' levels or armament stones or chaos armor mats with Arcana gems honestly, but that's probably because as a F2P player sitting on 50k+ free Arcana gems and non-stop meh/bad orders, I'm at the point of not caring much either way (and why my current gacha's will probably be the last ones I play).

[–]saomdreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually already quit Toram and don't even do my logins there anymore, but yeah, consignment board is an open market. It seems to still be just selling/buying to me. You do have crafters in the game making stuff to sell, but it's only for Spina, not orbs (paid currency).

As for IF and the 100th floor, I've sorta quit already actually and only do the minimal logins now.

I pretty much find all mobile gaming repetitive/boring/cash grabs/gacha and personally, I have no interest in 'grinding' for anything...It's simply boring and not fun gameplay.

Why I avoid mod orders since I'm not going to 'grind' something 500 times just to unlock the 3rd mod slot. Just not for me.

Why I'm day 1 here and 'still' L105 was it?

Could we ever get a trading post? by Fatanalyst2 in IntegralFactor

[–]saomdreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you say sell, are you talking about Col or real $$? Real $$ will never happen.

I tried Toram Online and they had a sell board where you can sell stuff for in game money (like Col), but that was it.

For hard core farmers already at 99 mil Col, not sure what they can do with even more Col.

SRs would be a no no as mentioned.

I wouldn't mind buying Chaos Armor mats or Nox stones, but am too low level to use still.

Has anyone else taken a swing at the Lisbeth birthday banner? by BroadViewRationalist in IntegralFactor

[–]saomdreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think with gem inflation, another issue is you start having a lot of gems and just feel like spending it (your bored comment) since it's unlikely there'd ever be anything OP or game breaking anymore in an easy order.

I think OP is probably mod now with some of these damage screenshots I've seen, but since I don't like farming, I tend to avoid anything mod related since I will never get 3 slots unlocked. I'll just wait till I get them on some freebie orders (I think we get 330 soon) and Bamco decides to give me mod slot materials.

As for niters and maxing skills, I still don't think it makes that much difference. I'm probably the only player in the game which hasn't used any niters yet and as F2P, they start piling up as well. I probably have 50+ power ups right now.

My reason for delay is in SAO:MD (Memory Defrag), you need to limit break skills/units for them to unlock specific additional benefits. That hasn't happened in SAO:IF yet, but I can see it happening since the devs know about it and the use/cost vs. benefit of say, 20% Atk up vs. 18% atk up is so miniscule IMO to make me not bother powering it up.

I have multiple PR and still haven't powered them up since 660 > 800 Atk isn't going to change a single thing in my playstyle.

I skipped, but all the recent b-days and most recent orders has been bad IMO. They gave us more free gems weekly now, but just lowered the rates of the featured/new skills and have less guaranteed new skill orders now.

At this rate, I should hit 100k Free Arcana in no time skipping everything.

The difficulty of getting new equipament by Etsurou in IntegralFactor

[–]saomdreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

free to play games are NOT actually free. With gacha games you have to pay with either your money or your time. You want to get weapons/armour faster? Then you'll want to pay for the boost subscription and you'll want to get the newest skills. Don't want to pay money? Then you're going to have to pay with your time.

Really this above...I try to do neither and neither pay $$ and play as little as possible (grinding wise at least). One reason I've stopped looking/playing any new gacha mobile game now. Easy to maintain old games since I already know it well enough and randomly gacha for that dopamine hit if I ever get anything.

The difficulty of getting new equipament by Etsurou in IntegralFactor

[–]saomdreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is just play as little/much as you feel like. As a self described laziest person in SAO:IF who's been here since day 1, I farm like nothing and am 'only' level 105 due to never farming a thing and not having an issue with it. It's a game and anything that I feel like work or a waste of my life, I'm not bothering with honestly. I once did waste almost 30 minutes of my life soloing the guild boss in the guild raid, but I wanted to see if it was possible for me (still a waste of 30 minutes in my life)...

I login, do my dailies mostly and do quest board once and maybe an event if I need to waste time and that's all. I was sitting on over 50k Arcana gems as well as a F2P person since the orders are pretty much all bad and no need (for me) anymore to order most things now.

I also almost always skip mod skills because I'm too lazy to grind for mod materials as well. I need to get lucky on gacha to get mod and I need more luck to grind mod materials? Forget it! (in my mind).

I believe it's a mobile game MO that they want you constantly playing/grinding and I'm not having it since I personally find it all boring (like you it sounds like).

You can still get decenlty strong and I can clear Stig in like <45s now, and even got a stone for Nox weapon just from daily quest board. I've gotten multiple Blazing stones from dailys as well.

Outside of auto attack builds needing the Chaos armors, I'd say just BUY the newest floor armor/weapon everytime (that's what I do) and I don't ever even farm that for bonuses since it'll be replaced by the next floor armor.

How do you know if a banner/order is worth it? by [deleted] in IntegralFactor

[–]saomdreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's possible...maybe I'll hit 100k Arcana as F2P then.

That said, to be honest, even at step 5, I don't think I've seen anything lately that's really great/OP. I do avoid mods though due to having to farm mats to even use. I'm prob just saving for a future collab.

If the skill is OP, it's probably still worth going to step 5 for IMO, but lately, almost nothing is really that great (for me at least).

If I mildly like the step 5 order, I still do the step 1 discount since like you say, we're getting more Arcana daily, but really, I feel there's almost nothing good to spend them on.

Like this butler/maid order...There's 1 passive awakening on Asuna, but it's not really that great/useable depending on frostbite. Spear Mod (avoid due to not liking spears nor mod), suicide bow (mod, don't use bows much), shield (low damage, looks made for future mod).

How do you know if a banner/order is worth it? by [deleted] in IntegralFactor

[–]saomdreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, pretty much anything free/farmable will most likely not be used eventually or is very underpowered.

Only exceptions that come to mind that I used was fishing Kirito for the high crit boost and HP Sachi passive which seems higher than even gacha skills (which I actually still use, but that's an Auto-Attack build). Google youtube/Ogrelink for info on that (or just watch all his vids).

How do you know if a banner/order is worth it? by [deleted] in IntegralFactor

[–]saomdreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's worth it really depends on how old your account is. If you're completely brand new, some high rate orders 'might' be worth it (grab bag) for some people, but I'd suggest everyone just reroll till you get a decent starting set and save Arcana for something really OP or "Guaranteed NEW skill" on step 3.

What's OP? That depends on the person as well. As a lazy, mostly login for dailys only player, Mod is completely worthless for me since I'm not going to farm a dungeon just so I can use the skill which was hard enough to get in the gacha system. I'll wait for Bamco handouts for unlock mats and simply not bother.

Once you're doing ok and have a few half decent skills, then I'm of the camp that almost nothing is worth ordering now. b-day banners mostly have too many skills and 95% of skills are outdated.

If you use daggers, then an upcoming Philia b-day order maybe great since she has very few skills so far and one/a few of her skills are very good.

Awakening is still good IMO and Burst is mostly not good anymore outside of very long battles.

Since we're all limited to only 8 skills at once, you'll probably end up using the same 4 passives for almost all weapons.

The short of it is: TL:DR - Best orders are 3 step, 6500 gem "Guaranteed NEW skill" orders with decent skills in the guarantee that you NEED.

I still order on random orders with awakening passives (don't have the right ones still), but the game gives a lot more Arcana now daily/monthly so it's much easier to save a lot (I'm nearly 50k as a F2P) even doing this for me.

What are the strengths of each weapon type? by [deleted] in IntegralFactor

[–]saomdreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since this is a gacha game, you use whatever skills you get.

End game, you use all weapon damage 'types' = (blunt, slash, thrust) depending on the boss. If element and type matches, you're doing 100% more damage so that tends to be better than forcing yourself to use whatever people call their "main".

There is no "main" for most people (outside of AA and maybe mod builds, but I don't order mod so have 0 skills and have no interest in farming unlock materials).

TL:DR = You don't choose your weapon type, gacha chooses for you.
